Anyone paying attention saw this coming for a long time now. Still sad to see it happen and I hope the best for those that lost their jobs.

Figured it was gonna happen after the sell of EA but was hoping I’d be wrong cause I was hoping for a new mass effect.

I was hoping they'd be sold, not executed in the streets for profit.

There's really nothing to sell.

I'd buy the Dragon Age IP for a dollar. There's absolutely value to be had from these properties.

A wholesale reboot of the Dragon Age brand going back to the tone of DA:O would be so fun.

EA owns the IP though.

Exactly. It is something they can sell.

I think there point is Bioware doesn't have any leverage, ea owns all the rights so they just saw Bioware as a net negative.

The IPs

EA is not going to sell the IP.

They didn't shut down the ip. They can still make new games or sell the rights.

They only shut down a mess of a studio.

There's about a 0% chance they will make new games in the franchises.

And if they were looking to sell the rights they could have sold the studio with it instead of killing it. The saudis will bury the IP in the desert.

Good?

Bioware tainted all their IPs unfortunately. It will take years for people to forget the failures and get nostalgia and hope for new games.

It's already been years. And no it wouldn't matter at all. Nobody bought any of the bad games. That partly why we're here in the first place.

Staff and IPs still have value despite how EA has mismanaged it all

Staff really doesn't have value as the folks at Bioware that built their resume are gone and EA is not going to sell the IP.

When the Saudis are involved summary execution is ALWAYS on the table

We still crying about a single fucking journalist?? Just so we can blind ourselves to the starvation of thousands SA did in Yemen? How extremely progressive of you.

How many journalists were murdered over the panama papers? More than a hundred? How does that make you feel, you little baby?
