Wow yeah i totally agree. Loved the red alert2 campaign, probably my favorite in the franchise. Generals zero hour has my favorite multiplayer, I've been playing it every weekend for like 5 years now. It's so great it reach like 2300 concurrent players with generals online.
I even played a lot of renegade, the shooter with a base and the ability to purchase vehicles and weapons is such a novel concept, I am very surprised no one has taken that tidea and ran with it yet. I feel like there is so much untapped potential there.
I'm sure you've heard of renegade x? I've played a bit of it, and it's amazing honestly. I dont really play it much though and I don't know how many players it has.
There was also earthbreakers, which was a game that was teased 6 years ago by petroglyph, which had some of the old westwood developers. Sadly they have gone radio silent on that game and it looks dead
Oh heck yeah, tempest rising was great too. It's like the first modern RTS I've played that felt like command and conquer. I havnt really gotten into the multiplayer though, I was a little turned off because it launched with only two factions. However I did buy vetis wrath DLC and im pumped to try it out once I get some free time
Renegade was a once in a lifetime gem. I will always remember sneaking around as an engineer with my C4 out, ready to turn the tide of the match. Unreal.
I was the Nod stealth soldier who waited for you to repair your tank, jacked it, and backed up over you before bringing it back to my teams front line.
LOL you bastard! Nah jk, I loved sneaking around to plant a nuclear strike beacon in some obscure corner of the their base. The beeping noise and the adrenaline rush you get when you hear it are ingrained in my memory haha
