So now, consoles are a 800€ hub for downloading drm locked games. Great. Great great great.

No more used market, no more preservation. Nada.

edit: STOP WITH GAMESTOP omg 😂 go on consumer to consumer platforms instead. If you're in Europe, download Vinted, it's not just to buy cute skirts.

Consoles are just going to be PCs with locked down ecosystems. And then PCs are going to become PCs with locked down ecosystems if Microsoft has their way. We will own nothing. This system is fucking garbage.

They always were since the 360 days.

But most consoles after the Dreamcast are locked down PCs. Motherboard, ram, storage, OS that boots directly into it's consoles hub program.

Just they have been convenient for your TV

You know, there is also Linux. Nobody can lock that shit down.

I prefer the simplicity of windows but if stuff gets locked down in some weird way I'm going back to Linux. I just hate all the little bull crap Linux needs to just run and be stable. I don't want to have to command line stuff to be a basic bitch consumer.

PC basically is already as Steam has a monopoly on the platform, the recent documents brought to life prove that. When Ubisoft was going to sell their games at a discount on their PC platform since there is no 30% Steam cut to consider, an overall amazing pro consumer move, Valve told them they will delist all their games on Steam as retaliation. One of the most anti consumer moves of all time

Pcs are just still pcs, disc drives have been irrelevant for 10 years now. But you can still "share" games on pc.
