Donald Trump explains his unique economic strategy of cutting the national deficit by completely halting trade with Canada and Mexico
 in  r/investment •  30m ago

Because changing the trade imbalance with Canada will somehow pay off some portion of our national debt? He doesn’t know the difference between a trade deficit and the national debt. Idiot.

All without loosing masked thugs on the streets to snatch hrs working immigrants and shoot Americans.
Perhaps that accounts for the lack of outrage.
It’s not what you do it’s the way that you do it.

What convinced you to buy Bitcoin for the first time?
 in  r/Bitcoin •  1h ago

Seeing it hit $5K after I was too lazy to set up my spare laptop to mine it at $0.25. Only would have gotten 4-5 BYC per week.

Why do people think Bitcoin can replace currency?
 in  r/btc •  2h ago

It’s value is not tied to any government issued currency.
It will not replace government issued currency it is like gold a store of value that like gold no one nation can debase like it can it’s own currency. But unlike gold it is cheaper and easier to store and exchange.

How are cryptocurrencies not the dumbest thing ever?
 in  r/investing •  2d ago

Dumber than pieces of paper that are no more than a promise from a government that may be more or less corrupt.

Some in gold because I see dollar debasement on the horizon. Some in USDC earning a bit more inflation currently erodes.

What we know about Bend school shooting: a 3-minute rampage and a shattered community
 in  r/oregon •  5d ago

I should have qualified that with “in the USA”. Outside cancelling USAID has killing children in the millions.
Israel’s genocide in Gaza certainly has killed more Palestinian children.
Then again in the US it’s Americans (often children themselves) killing American children so no surprise we don’t care about killing of other people’s children.

I really don’t get why people are so hostile toward James Talarico. Disagree with his faith or his politics if you want. But every time I see him, he’s treating people with kindness and respect. When did that become something to be mad about?
 in  r/EveryBitTexas •  5d ago

It sets a bad example. America is all about zero compassion or empathy it is all about personal gain at any cost stepping on others is the plan to get ahead. What a shit hole.
