That was satisfying, thank you for the link lol. I have not Airbnb-ed for years for many reasons, and entitled owners is one of them.

"Airbnb needs to remember whose home this is" is the top comment lmao. What tyranny, the convenient app that lets me make extra money has rules I have to follow.

It's the schadenfreude that I didn't even know I needed in my life today!

A tiny win, but a win none the less, for the consumer.

This one’s great

That's a fun read in there, been a bit since I even have heard airbnb mentioned.

Seems obvious to most of us, if you charge a cleaning fee you can't expect people to clean too.

Also, anyone else think they are just straight up lying thinking we can't notice?

Like if you are charging $200 for a cleaning fee and telling us it costs $350, I have to assume they do not do a good clean after each use.

More likely after 10 uses to pocket more.

Hilarious bc they are saying these rules helped them weed out the lazy people lmao

Lmao I saw someone there calling for a class action lawsuit against Airbnb... For changing the rules on their own platform, which the hosts are not obligated to use in any way. Other posts were suggesting putting up signs that "heavily suggest against" their flushing rules, etc. It's pathetic

Fuckin YIKES dude that sub is full of self righteous, self serving assholes. I've only stayed in an airbnb once and it was a lovely Vietnamese couples spare bedroom. I cleaned the room when I left (without it being a rule or request) and left a lovely review and that was that. Sad to see so many hosts/customers are so problematic.

Too many airbnb hosts are in it for pure profit maximization. They could care less about the experience that customers have, or the effect that those customers might have on everyone else.

Their selfish tunnel-vision is what's making them become less and less welcome in communities all over the world - and they know it.

It may be too little too late, sadly. Many airbnb hosts genuinely want their guests to feel welcome and comfortable, which includes making sure that guests respect the comfort and privacy of the communities of regular families that they're so often in.

The best hosts are right up front about everything. They'll even sometimes cut deals with local businesses to encourage guests to try them out.

It could be such a great thing, but a significant portion of humanity suffers from apparently incurable greedy assholeitis. It's why nice things never last long.

airbnb_hosts, but be forewarned, when you visit you'll be forced to moderate the subreddit and clean up any offtopic or dirty posts
