Damn, that was faster than usual. Just out there beta testing their product on the public.

“Muse's instructions to web crawlers did not prevent the exposure. Its robots.txt file asked search and AI crawlers to avoid the share paths, but those instructions neither restricted access nor stopped DNS services from recording hostnames. The researchers did not need a search engine to discover the conversations.”

Even better: by telling crawlers to avoid the share paths, the robots.txt file is providing those paths for everyone to see.

It’s like putting a huge sign on a door that says “Confidential Information! Do not enter this unlocked room!”
