I hate this on nextdoor. Pretty sure its partly why there is so much ragebait surfaced, with no way to hide it

Nextdoor is so fucking annoying the boomers have turned it into Facebook 2.0. Every time some speeds down their street they gotta let all of us know in a 50 miles radius that it’s unacceptable.

I live in a small town about 30 miles outside of a much bigger city and I just deleted it when Nextdoor decided I needed to start seeing all the big city shit instead of just my immediate community. I could tolerate it when it was just a few randos bitching about kids riding their dirtbikes on the street because I was more interested in what restaurant they were building and what my neighbors were trying to give away, but once Nextdoor started slowly and slowly expanding the range from where I could see posts, nah I'm good

Yeah, I live along the Mississippi and 90% of my Next Door feed is people from across the river. (the other 10% is ads that have the same problem).

Sure, in a straight line they're like 10 miles away, but if you drive to the nearest bridge, it's closer to a 100 mile trip.

Same problem with any fast-food app, they show me the spots across the river I can't get to first.

It's half local business ad garbage because our neighbhorhood mod allows it. No, Cindy...I don't need the same lawncare guy recommendation every 2 days.

I joke with my wife that it's now an aggregate site for landscapers to advertise

Oh its basically the opposite in my city. The boomers go freaking mental when a road gets a redesign like a roundabout or goes from a double to single lane with a bike path to slow down traffic. They LOVE speeding in residential areas past elementary schools.

we've had the doomerism over a new roundabout here ... boomers are convinced its gonna cause more problems but when its implemented and shit gets better nothing but crickets... im in a small town so everyone here is... s l o w

It's because old people are too stupid to handle a circle. Anytime I see someone doing weird shit in a roundabout its an old person. All that leaded gasoline they grew up with rotted their brains away.

Add the Ring Forum to the mix as well.. I cant count how many times Ive heard someone ask what are those booms near the 4th of july, or random coyote warnings... ITs fucking annoying.

Dude every city’s subreddit is basically no better either. It’s just Gen Xers and Millennials early adapting Boomerism. Idk why the fuck anyone even bothers with Nextdoor. It’s way worse than Facebook.

I gave Nextdoor a try when I moved to a new state. About 95% of it is just people posting photos (usually of their pets) or going on political tirades.

It was a good idea, but needs much better moderation.

If people didn't go mad with Mod Power it'd be good to assign select people in the area moderation powers.
