In the series Your Lie in April, does the piano sound better in the anime or in the manga? Any opinions on this?

Manga but only to the reader. The MC can’t hear it.

For the anime series, the piano player was Tomoki Sakata, a former child prodigy who won several international piano competitions.

For the manga, the piano playing was done by various members of the editorial staff at Monthly Shōnen Magazine.  All of them were very skilled amateurs.  None of them held a candle to a pro like Tomoki Sakata.
