Careful. Doing an ad or talking about your love of a thing in an interview is promoting.
Being followed around by photographers while you’re taking a break isn’t.

Dear lord! What about all those 50 Shades of Grey kids who look up to her?!

I know. She's setting a really bad example for them.

They are happy in their trailer parks.

And you’re miserable in a mansion?

2

No. It was a reference to the old meme about how it would have been different if the guy lived in a trailer park.

At this point in the timeline, hastening death will be a trend.

The President of the Unites States is a convicted rapist so I think that's a worse image for kids than the occasional smoke.

Where do you get your tobacco from, then?

I don't care anyway. Enjoy your COPD!

Don't forget felon

And a kiddy fiddler.

He fucked some kids, and then America made him president… twice.

Ha ha.

A dead concept in the modern era. The prudes won, now they're just fighting it out amongst themselves to see who's boots get necks to stand on.

Hmm.. I don't understand, like why do celebrities/ famous people "owe" people to set some shining example?

Celebrities are the new gods. We grew tired of the old gods.

"Our gods are dead. Ancient Klingon warriors slew them a millennia ago. They were more trouble than they were worth."

The prudes won

Nah. Remember when being a rebel was skating and partying/clubbing all around, drinking, smoking, maybe even doing some drugs?

Well, that's normal now. Everyone does it, it's not as looked down anymore, it's even cultural, and if someone is against it they might be downvoted to oblivion and ridiculed amongst their circles.

The new rebels are the people that actually stand up to not do any of these, to choose a different lifestyle, and to influence people to stay clean (without the need of movements like Straight Edge or else). A video or a post with "I use drugs!" don't get any real attention, but a "I quit drugs!" brings lots of attraction (and controversy).

I'm not saying I agree with the lifestyle, I'm just stating how things are now, or how I see things anyway.

In a few generations, it might be reversed again.

What planet are you living on where everyone is skateboarding and doing drugs? I'd rather live there.

1

u/bostonjenny81 13d ago

It was the 90’s

0

u/Gargomon251 12d ago

You would rather live with a bunch of drug addicts what the hell

1

u/Comfortable-Fuel6343 12d ago

have you just not experienced life yet? There's people who have enough self control to be casual drug users. Are you one of those fox news brainwashed misanthropic boomers or are you one of those prudish anxiety riddled agoraphobic zoomers?

Ok, cool. The "everyone does it" part was an hyperbole, if I have to explain it.

The rest stands.

She’s not promoting them - she’s not doing advertising campaigns. She smokes and paps take pictures of her. Good lord people 🥴

...being a celebrity doesn't make you a role model.

*clutches pearls* oh my word

u/Brother_Clovis 13d ago

Omf who cares?!

5

u/Gargomon251 12d ago

It's so crazy to me that people under 40 still smoke. We've known the dangers for decades now. Yes it's addictive so why even start?

6

u/Crabcomfort 14d ago

'promoting' and they're just addicted lmao ok

2

u/DustyDGAF 10d ago

Good smoking needs some good press

1

u/HappyAnimalCracker 12d ago

Who is Dakota Johnson and why is it my business to call her out for smoking? What happens if I don’t give a shit?

1

u/thefaehost 7d ago

Nobody calling out ice spice and Toney maguire for sharing a vape cuz it makes them look like dorks.

1

u/Bchavez_gd 13d ago

Honestly though. There's so many laws that fucked over the vaping industry that it's less of a fucking hassle to smoke cigarettes again.

3

u/thebuttsmells 13d ago

thanks to the new tax law in NY, nicotine pouches that I use are on par with cigarette prices. I'm happy with the pouches and will not go back to cigarettes, but many people will go for the cheaper option, whatever that may be

Wait, is there like a director's cut or something? I don't remember any of that being shown.

Getting cancer is hip nowadays

7

u/amscraylane 13d ago

I live in Iowa where we have the 2nd highest rate of cancer because farmers can pollute. We know this and yet the pearl clutching over cigarettes is insane

0

u/MoneyCock 13d ago

Cancer and the less-talked-about COPD. If only the slobbering idiots showing solidarity for Dakota could talk to my dad.

-8

u/MarvelousVanGlorious 14d ago

Can we just call her out for having no talent instead?

-7

u/MarvelousVanGlorious 14d ago

Guys… come on. She’s an awful actress. We should be able to admit that by now.

1

u/ShadyMorals 13d ago

I've seen two movies with her and both the movies and her acting was a bit meh. But more power to her for making into those big budget movies.
