It's true, I always look back on those memories so fondly. Enjoy it whilst it happens but be ready for other different but equally as enjoyable memories to be made in the future.

I wish there's a way to aware a good time while you're having it

Hey, stumbled across this and have spent much of my life that I wasn't grateful enough during certain moments. Moments that are seared into my brain and re-think of them semi-often.
I have since learned that that is how to be grateful for those pivotal moments. I relive and long to return to them and that is paying them the tribute they deserve. There's a line but if you are actually "aware" then you can't be truly in the moment. And that is very well part of the nostalgia, we were in the moment and that is the best gratitude and awareness you could give those times.
Have a good one friend.

You can go back to the past if you really want, but nobody is waiting there for you.

2001 was my last summer.
i recall choosing to not think about the end and just have fun with my friends, and i did up until the very last moment when we were exchanging goodbyes and getting ready for college. we all bawled like the children that we were.
i never had friends ever again like i had with those people. its both a fond memory and a kick in the balls all at once, but i guess thats life.

“This is the best summer ever! Let’s do it even better next year.”
“Buddy… this is the last summer we will hangout together.”
“Why?”
“We… didnt have the same chemistry as the rest of the group. They decided that they will leave this group. With two of us only, this group will never have the same energy as before.”
This is the conversation between me and the leader of my best group. This conversation happens exactly when we left the event avenue. Now it has been 8 years since then. The leader and me did hangout a few months ago. The rest of the group either lost contact or involved in some other bad group

Yeah but its subconsious. And I dont think the guy above calls that guy 'leader' too. Just a way to convey to reddit that he and the guy pulling the cart are the only ones left

it's been nearly 20 years since I lost my 3 best friends. I still go to our old spot once a year to remember them...
