No Paywall Russia sending first diesel shipment to US on Thursday
https://thehill.com/policy/international/6163838-russia-to-ship-diesel-us/?tbref=hp•

Russia is going to send its first tanker with diesel to the U.S. on Thursday, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said.
According to a Reuters report citing the RIA news agency and other media, Novak said Wednesday the vessel will carry 40,000 metric tons of fuel.
40,000 metric tons of diesel is about 12.5 million gallons.
That's roughly 2 hours and 20 minutes worth of fuel for a country that consumes 125 million gallons a day. We go through about 5,250,000 gallons a hour
This is the worst kind of performative horse shit.

Well let's think about this for a second. I bet you Trump and his administration didn't even spend a minute figuring out the math. It's not like we have 300 million+ people here. They didn't even bother knowing that this diesel isn't going to nearly as enough for the states. And it looks stupid because Russia should be our enemy and we should hold them accountable when it comes to Ukraine war but that's just too much for us at the moment

Trump has been doing everything he can to help Putin out though, so it makes sense from that perspective.

Every Republican in Congress from now until Trump is forced out of office needs to be questioned by news outlets daily why they're letting Trump fund Iran's Russian-supplied intelligence on US soldiers.
This shit needs to show up in Democrat attack ads.

What company is buying the diesel?
As soon as anyone finds out let everyone know.

Only a Traitor would allow Russian Diesel into America.

The red hats were always symbolism for 'comrade'. Now they're just saying it out loud.

We buy fuel from Russia, Russia funds Iran, we are at war with Iran….
Brilliant strategy

Taxpayer money is now being used to fund attacks on American soldiers. They're actually fucking doing this. Un-fucking-believable.

We should all go out and blockade that tanker that's going to dock in our country. Hey Russia, just to be clear we are not your friends, we are not your allies. You have bombed Ukraine for years, killed scores of innocent people and severely injured others, destroyed infrastructure..like what are we doing here? Trump and co may love you guys, but I think I can speak for the majority of our nation.. Putin, fuck you and your diesel. We don't need it, because we're supposed to be an independent country let alone a powerful one.. but it's to the point now where America is asking our own enemies for assistance. It's just a shame

It's like our administration is doing the bidding of a terrorist hellbent on destroying a nation over one thousand cuts.

Doesn't the US export diesel? This is purely for show. (besides being just a couple of hours worth).

Guess who has a surplus. Canada.
•

If Canada is listening and wants to adopt Minnesota, we accept.

Colorado too?!

Could they just like run a pipe across the Gordie Howe bridge sometime in the night?
•
u/PopBulky7023 44m ago
Nah, Canadians have a indiscriminate dislike of Americans at this point. I'm surprised they haven't just closed the border and started kicking Americans out.
•
u/briman2021 30m ago
Bummer. I hope we unfuck our shit and can go back to being friends again. I get it though. If the border gets shut down before I get to banff I’m going to be even more pissed.

It would be great if Ukraine sank that ship before it crossed the Atlantic.

The US is one of the top exporters of diesel in the world. Well above Russia in #2.

Fucking blood fuel funding Iran to kill Americans and russians to kill Ukrainians. Good fucking God America. What the fuck is going on?

A day worth of fuel. It means nothing.

Does the money going to Russia help with their war effort? I honestly don’t know how significant the influx of cash is for them compared to where their industry is at the moment.
•
u/Western-Knightrider 53m ago
Not enough to make a difference for us but a stab in the back on Ukraine and democracy.
•
•
u/MelatoninFiend 43m ago
Port security needs to go over every single square inch of that ship to make sure its safe before it docks.
Letting in an enemy tanker is not a great idea, especially when the Russian asset said that LA or SD could get blown up and it'd be "a small price to pay".

The USA exports 200k metric tons of diesel per day. Mostly to south America. Making us one of the largest exporters of diesel.
Russia is offering 40k metric tons, in this one instance. Not daily.
We could export a little less and more than make up for the difference without doing deals with a Putin. Stupid orange octogenarian.

u/Rhianna83 37m ago
Ah, so the funneling of taxpayer cash has started to flow to our longtime foe who bomb civilians .
•
u/Exotic-Ferret-3452 57m ago
I assume it will be getting a full water cannon salute as it pulls into harbour in the US, with MAGAts on hand cheering and bringing back one of their Charlottesville 2017 chants: 'Russia is our friend!'

•
u/ZogemWho 41m ago
It’s all performative bullshit. The US doesn’t buy oil or processed fuel other than to supply the strategic reserve . Corporations do, and the majority are multi-national conglomerates.
•
u/RecommendationLess71 39m ago
Where is it shipping from? Kaliningrad or St. Petersburg? I hope drones can find that vessel.
