Holy shit guys imagine if Talarico wins and we finally get Jeb’s mom’s guacamole recipe after all this time

•

u/The_Grand_Briddock 7h ago

Jeb is one of her four favourite sons

•

u/SandersSol 6h ago

Please clap

•

u/ShakaCobra 6h ago

Not even ten years later and I’d give my right arm for the GOP to put Jeb on the ballot instead of the freak shows they parade around now

•

u/SandersSol 5h ago

Its ok, its just that the GOP is the party of pedophile child molesters and ghouls like Mrs. Dell and the My Pillow guy

Im sure you understand.

•

u/BODYBUTCHER 6h ago

Is Neil included in that count?

•

u/wheatgivesmeshits Texas 6h ago

Who?

•

u/VoteYourOssoff 5h ago

I dont care for Jeb

u/TrumperineumBait 8h ago

This won't surprise anyone. George H. W. Bush voted for Clinton in 2016 and Liz Cheney voted for Kamela in 2024

•

u/pchs26 7h ago

Yes and the point was that we had reached a bridge too far - even for their level of evil. It also was trying to let the old school, people who feel the same know it is ok to vote Democrat, which some people is considered verbotten.

•

u/No-Wafer3889 4h ago

yeah it just goes to show that even people from the same political circles can recognize when their party has gone too far

u/Illustrious-Fax-4589 9h ago

Bruh on first glance, I thought it was Jeb! Bush

u/ImNotAWhaleBiologist 8h ago

Are you going to clap or not?

12

u/BigInSheboyganGus 8h ago

You didn’t even clap.

Please clap

•

u/My_two-cents 7h ago

I bet Jeb would vote for Talarico too if he could.

Ken Paxton is an especially big piece of shit, even by Republicans standards. The fact that they couldn’t find someone better for the primary is incredibly embarassing.

•

u/Wurm42 District Of Columbia 7h ago

The Republicans didn't need to find anyone; Ken Paxton chose to mount a primary challenge to sitting Republican Senator John Cornyn, along with Representative Wesley Hunt and five other candidates:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2026_United_States_Senate_election_in_Texas#Republican_primary

I agree that Republicans have a candidate quality problem this cycle, but that wasn't the issue here. This was all about the fight between the MAGA and establishment wings of the Texas GOP.

•

u/InCarbsWeTrust 7h ago

They DID have better - the incumbent senator Cornyn!  Who to be clear is also a POS, but I think he’d still be at worst 50/50 to win right now.  This was such an unforced error by GOP Texas voters, and says a lot about them.

•

u/ares7 6h ago

Paxton must have been caught on camera doing something where he thought becoming a senator was his only leverage to help save him.

•

u/Unfair_Web_8275 7h ago

Has any modern president dipped out of the spotlight more than George W Bush?

•

u/MrPookPook 5h ago

He’s living the good life making shit art, why would he want to remind everybody that he still exists and is still a total piece of shit?

•

u/Automatic_Taste_7242 3h ago

Seriously, his presidency will likely be looked as the last point we had to control our debt, now spiraling it off control, and decided to ruin our economy with forever wars that made the entire world less safe

•

u/Worldly-Basil-8933 2h ago

Rumsfeld and Cheney are more the architects of his presidency than himself.

•

u/letsburn00 2h ago

He still knew.

He had the power to get rid of them and put competent people in charge. He didn't.

•

u/ScootyMcTrainhat 57m ago

But that's worse. You do see how that's worse, right?

•

u/Frostys_Rhule 6h ago

Regan but he had dementia

•

u/CyanEndeavour 6h ago

JFK after his head exploded

•

u/Medallodabest 6h ago

I guess he didn’t dodge the bullet after all

•

u/Atomicmooseofcheese 5h ago

LBJ did

•

u/TheWix Massachusetts 4h ago

He was dead within 4 years, though

•

u/InnerSilent 2h ago

I mean could you blame him? Bro lead us to the longest lasting modern "war" in history and we ultimately ended up with nothing. I'd hide myself after that complete fuck up too.

•

u/No-Aide-8726 48m ago

he turned Americans into torturing war criminals as official policy

28

u/MattinglyBaseball 8h ago

Always good when people are willing to self-reflect and change their sides to vote for decency. Too bad George is still a PoS unwilling to come out in opposition to the shitty party he contributed to.

10

u/Driftlack 8h ago

The opinions of War Criminals are not worth knowing.

4

u/agent_mick 8h ago

Even a broken clock etc etc

•

u/pchs26 7h ago

Yea I think this tells you kind of how bad the GOP this line is too far for them. Kind of the point of having Cheney publicly advocate as well but some people want to be obtuse.

•

u/Corcorans-ghost 7h ago

W. endorucisng talarico will only hurt him lol

•

u/Wurm42 District Of Columbia 7h ago

Good! Every prominent Republican who announces they're crossing the party line to vote for a Democrat gives permission for ordinary voters to do the same.

8

u/SillyGoatGruff 9h ago

I wonder if jeb or george will follow suit

27

u/Illustrious-Fax-4589 8h ago

If Jeb actually endorses Talarico, I will clap wholeheartedly without any prompting.

4

u/Bad-Machine 8h ago

W hasn't been fundraising or donating to Paxton from the reports but has for plenty of other GOP members and races. Maybe there's enough spite against Paxton to not vote for him but I doubt W would admit to it.

•

u/Old-Way-5529 7h ago

I’m surprised they don’t- Paxton beat Jebs son to be AG, and is probably why the family’s political aspirations are pretty much done in 2026

•

u/VengefulWalnut 7h ago

Everyone in the Bush family has bigger cojones than W at this point. I am so disappointed in his silence. Granted, I never liked the guy's politics in the first place. But there should be a united front on the part of the Ex-Presidents, and he's the only one who hasn't said a word.

•

u/tadayou 4h ago

W was basically the blue print for Trump, especially internationally. I bet in the US much of his presidency was overshadowed by overcoming the shock of 9/11, but W introduced shit like election fraud, freedom fries, and war crimes to the public palette of the presidency.

It's one of the reasons why Obama won that Nobel Peace Prize: Because the world was so glad that the dark years of W's ignorance were bygone. But, alas, it got worse.

•

u/Dry-Dragonfly5286 4h ago

War crimes are as American as apple pie. Bush didn't introduce that. He did excel at it though

•

u/VengefulWalnut 4h ago

Very, very true. And even outside the context of war, this nation has done some truly heinous stuff in the name of "freedom."

The election wasn't so much his fault as it was a strategic win in the courts that should've never happened. Freedom fries were a product of the day's jingoistic fervor. But Bush/Cheney absolutely normalized war crimes in the modern era of never-ending news streams.

•

u/Dry-Dragonfly5286 2h ago

I watched the first gulf war on TV. Bush sr. Has that homor

•

u/VengefulWalnut 2h ago

Which honor? If we're talking war crimes, we can go further than that. Reagan did his fair share, except his were just standard violations of the UN charter and crimes against humanity (we used to be so innocent, eyes full of wonder, hearts full of fear). Teddy Roosevelt could be accused as well if Geneva had been written back then.

I was there as well, it was wild watching live TV reports from Iraq when the bombing started. Do you remember the embedded reporters showing the landing in Kuwait? Insanity. Now I'd be watching it live on Instagram.

•

u/Dry-Dragonfly5286 2h ago

The honor of "nnormalizing war crimes in the news streams

•

u/VengefulWalnut 2h ago

I'll give you that for sure.

•

u/No-Aide-8726 45m ago

Bush and all the "never trumpers" opened the door to Trump and SPECIALLY the ones that supported McCain when he chose female Trump as his running mate.

The only never trumpers ill ever trust are the ones that denounced their participation in the first place, very few do.

•

u/Random-Generation86 2h ago

I'll be quite honest, I'm fine if W never makes another impact on history. He's done plenty. Should have just owned a baseball team and left politics to his loser brother.

•

u/thegreatbluedini America 7h ago

That's two Bush family members who have endorsed Talarico!

•

u/username95050 6h ago

At least one smart Bush

•

u/CranberrySchnapps Maryland 4h ago

Everyone should. Paxton is scum.

•

u/External-Example-292 4h ago

Glad there are still some good Republicans out there.

But I also Hope some magas wake up as well.

•

u/Significant_Cow4765 7h ago

Neil? A pig so compromised he never ran himself lol

Now the question is do you trust the word of a Republican since we can't verify that claim, nor should anybody be able to.
