When I left Ohio almost 15 years ago, on the last day I was there, I made a short 45min drive to the nearest Walmart, and in that time I passed 8 trucks with confederate flags flying out the back. It surprised my mom, and she's from the deep south.

I left 22 years ago, I've lived in multiple states since then. We considered buying my MIL's house in Ohio for a cheap retirement but after going back to visit this last summer we ruled it out very quickly. Good luck, Ohio, you need it.

Yeah honestly I have a lot of friends back there and even though I haven't been thinking of moving back they've all been pretty clear I should stay gone. LOL

To think that Ohio was part of the Union and Grant, Sherman, and Sheridan were from there. SMH.

I think it has one of the largest KKK groups too, or something like that. Crazy that it used to be a destination for free slaves.

Ah, the plains Midwest: for when you want the racism of the south, but don’t want to be bothered with Southern manners.

They're just celebrating southern culture, don't you know? /s

Hilarious, considering I rarely see one in Texas. But, TBF, we aren't really included in the South. I do see a dumb amount of Texan equivalents though.

My MIL’s boyfriend is in Houston and he has 3 confederate flags tattooed on him. So they’re there. But hope you never have to meet him. I’m grateful to be several states away.
