I think he genuinely thinks "the left" is just equal and opposite idolization of politicians, and thinks principles are fake. 

Pictures of Obama on peoples mantle is a different and specific thing, but it's like how there's been this idea the past few years with Epstein of "watch it, they'll get Clinton too!" as if anyone exists who has tied their sense of self and purpose to Bill Clinton

A lot of right wing people I talk to believe that.  They genuinely don't get that I support Bernie Sanders only because of his policies and not because of who he is.
