Look at their subreddits, they're saying: "This isn't a good look. It gives the left ammo to say Trump is a fascist. It's obviously NOT, but this will make them say it is."

They'll never see it.

"I swear, if he does fascist things 13 or 14 more times, I'm outta here!"

u/Impeesa_ 29d ago

"He really needs to stop walking like a duck and quacking like a duck, or it's going to be really easy for political opponents to incorrectly perceive President Duck Quacks-a-lot as a duck."

11

u/Mitchwise 29d ago

Nah... Nobody would ever name a duck Donald... That would just be silly.

“Lil Bitch”

u/THE_Visionary88 29d ago

It’s insane at this point how up his ass they are, he could shit in their mouths and they’d say “he didn’t mean to” 🤷🏽‍♂️

8

u/Adventurous-Tone-311 29d ago

My theory is at least half of them are bots and AI agents. Then you have the mods who typically delete any comments that lead to critical thinking.

3

u/Ok-Computer-8726 29d ago

I used to sometimes check right after a particularly bad story, and there would be a pretty large portion of comments frustrated with him. Then I'd go back a day or two later and almost everything critical was removed.

4

u/Old_Cryptid 29d ago

C'mon, they're not up his ass.

There's no room.

He's already got the entire GOP up his ass.

u/jemappellejimbo 29d ago

Racism is that good of a motivator

1

u/Daft00 29d ago

The goalposts might as well just have their own legs and feet

1

u/Possible-Ad3864 29d ago

I think they’d opt for some Human Centipede if he’d allow it.

2

u/THE_Visionary88 29d ago

100% they would, like the insane people that get his name or face tattooed on them, like wtf. Seriously.

1

u/Possible-Ad3864 29d ago

I’d say he’s the richest loser in history, but that guy owns a rocket company.

6

u/thegirlinthetardis 29d ago

Mr. Squeak, what grade are you in???

2

u/lnombredelarosa 29d ago

He does them in a day

“I’ll give him a chance”

"The leopards won't eat my face, obviously. I'm with them!"

u/one_two_o Sep 22 '26

That is incredibly sad and terrifying mental gymnastics right there. "Trump shouldn't do this because of how it looks and it will give people an excuse to call him a fascists"

Not "trump shouldn't do this because it's what fascist dictators do and we don't want fascism"

They really think that the billionaires are going to make sure their lives are comfortable because they are the dumbest among us. It's insane how uneducated these people are on major historical events

39

u/RackemFrackem 29d ago

You do have to take everything with a grain of salt though, given that 98% of the users there are just Russians cosplaying as Repugs.

1

u/Historical-Rub5654 29d ago

This isn't true, and it's useless to repeat this. There may be a few of them but those people are actually here and believe that nonsense, it's indicative of the problem with MAGA as a whole, because they will literally lie to themselves too pay the idea that Trump is perfect and not to blame. They will do the same thing with Vance and that's even more dangerous because Trump's stupidity is predictable, while Vance is operating on Peter Theils orders.

1

u/IAmMiddleChild 29d ago

Brother...what are you talking about. How you easily accept theils influence but not Russian when both are documented?

-1

u/Historical-Rub5654 29d ago

People on Reddit often use the canned response of oh those are just bots oh those are just Russians and it excuses the reality that there are millions of Americans who actually believe the kind of bullshit and they actively believe their own lies. I literally just stated in the comment you respond to that while there are likely some Russian trolls simply excusing what we read in that subreddit as being the thoughts of bots and trolls from other countries results in only complacency that this country is not actively full of millions of individuals who literally think like that

3

u/IAmMiddleChild 29d ago

You are applying black and white thinking here my confused friend. Both can be part of the root cause. You don't have the data to define the exact extent and neither do we, we just all know it's a bit of both. Calling out a problem isn't complacency of other root causes. Either way I'm out, I don't intend to spend my morning convincing a complainer.

0

u/Historical-Rub5654 29d ago

In no way shape or form am I discussing this in a black and white approach what I am stating is that simply using it as the excuse that it's often used as ignores the reality of the situation that people actually think that way. I've stated more than once now that they're likely are some Russian trolls spreading disinformation on that subreddit, but it's goofy to assume that they're anything more than a minority and that the vast majority of users on that subreddit are actual American citizens contributing to the cancer that is killing this country. I have seen them more than one occasion individuals trying to excuse that subreddit as just being pure Russian disinformation campaigns and that is what I am referring to when I am talking about the complacency of assuming that every one there is not actually an American who feels that way. These are entire groups of citizens who are a true danger to the future of this country.

u/EchoAndNova 29d ago

Not fully disagreeing but just saying... The mentality of "eh those 'conservatives' are all fake nobody believes those ideas" or similar is part of the reason this dictator-wannabe is in his 2nd term. Too many idiots didn't think he'd have a chance yet more of them showed up at the polls than anyone else.

1

u/JustaSeedGuy 28d ago

I agree, that mentality is awful.

Thank goodness that nobody you've replied to ever stated or implied any such mentality.

2

u/Ryguy55 29d ago

Literally every time Trump does something insane, stupid, or insanely stupid, so much so that even in the deep reaches of their depravity they can't find a single way to twist and defend it, the concern is always "this may hurt us in the midterms." They have absolutely no sense of right or wrong, good or bad, they're just worried that if their Godking continues to fuck everything up, it may damper his ability to continue to fuck everything up for the next two years after November.

2

u/0bsessions324 Massachusetts 29d ago

Look at the way they handle racism. They're more concerned with being perceived as racist than actually being racist.

1

u/MajorFuckingDick 29d ago

Tldr. Trump is a facist sometimes but he isnt a dictator. This distinction doesn't even fucking matter but its the core of most supporters beliefs. Trump is "Doing something" and thats really all many voters want.

My life is bad so change is good. You can clean the room when you have absolute power.

53

u/You_Stole_My_Hot_Dog Sep 22 '26

God I hate when they do that (which is constantly). It’s like a part of their brain knows it’s wrong and looks really bad, but isn’t wrong enough to not support it.

7

u/FreeRangeEngineer 29d ago

I'd say it's because voting R is a question of identity to these people. Questioning that vote would cause an identity crisis, so they'll do anything to avoid questioning it - including betraying their own moral compass.

2

u/Doc_Toboggan 29d ago

This is what happens when you mix religion into politics.

7

u/witchgrid 29d ago

They don't vote based on "wrong or right" moral conviction, because they have none. They vote based on tribe, despite having been completely hoodwinked about who their actual tribe is.

4

u/jeffriestubesteak 29d ago

Oh, they support it. Their complaint isn't about the fascism itself. It's about how the fascism makes them look like fascists. They'd be perfectly happy with even more fascism- as long as nobody mentions how fascist it is.

2

u/Mikel_S 29d ago

That is exactly what it is.

They have been brainwashed, not only into voting against their best interests, but into believing they are smart strong individuals.

They can't be wrong because if they were wrong, it would mean they were tricked. They can't have been tricked because smart strong people don't get tricked. So if they have the critical thinking skills to notice things look bad, it's not because they are bad, or if it is, it's not because of what they voted for, it's just a side effect or perception as opposed to actually being bad. Because they're smart and strong and can't have been wrong.

1

u/majordashes 29d ago

Their identities are tied to Trump always being right. He’s their special boy.

They’ll cheerlead and excuse away anything he does.

Trump could haul away their own families to a detention camp and they would find a way to make that ok.

Our nation is sick. Not the majority of us, but just enough to drag us all into Fascism.

33

u/Jalapenoplanter 29d ago

It doesn’t seem like the conservative sub is letting them post a thread about this yet

74

u/Beneficial-Object977 29d ago

That sub has been proven by multiple meta analyses of posting patterns vpn outages etc to be almost entirely Russians and bots

5

u/EisVisage 29d ago

You got a source for that? Would be interested in reading the details.

7

u/Stock_Researcher_651 29d ago

And they won’t until next week, until it’s blown over and we’re on the next crisis. Never ending loop over there. Can’t show damaging facts because that messes up their narrative. They are the definition of brain rot.

I see a post from 10 hours ago.  It's got about 230 comments, but I bet half are "Removed by Moderator".

2

u/GrayEidolon 29d ago

this can sometimes help with that

https://www.reveddit.com

3

u/CortadoGelato 29d ago

Literally called "Trump TV".

2

u/SoochSooch 29d ago

To be fair, most of the posts in the conservative reddits come from Russian/Israeli bots

1

u/Spimflagon 29d ago

Thing is, it's not just that he's a fascist. Some of 'em want a stern rod from Daddy; fine. It's a mistake, but it's a take.

But he's such a shit fascist.

Like, he puts Hegseth in charge of the military, and he's such a preening idiot. Trump himself just fucks up everything he touches; he wanted to remake the Iran deal with his name on it and he's destroyed the global oil market and driven more people to green fuels than ever.

And it's not like the guy himself is a war hero, or looks good in a beret, or is a great speaker, or a motivational character. He's a fat slob in a relatively cheap suit with a bad hairpiece.

He's not even a good liar.

1

u/Amazing_Fix_2399 29d ago

They’re already talking about how Obama once tried to ban Fox News that never happened. The cope is hard with regards.

1

u/buried_lede 29d ago

Obviously

1

u/drakonukaris 29d ago

Yeah well it's because they are fascists, and they really want to hide that fact. I think they perfectly understand that. Now I'm not saying all Trump supporters are fascists but specifically on their sub here on reddit they definitely are and comments like that aren't uncommon.

1

u/a445d786 29d ago

Never about the actions, but about how it makes them look. Selfish.

1

u/That_one_cool_dude 29d ago

Im surprised they even allowed this to be posted over there.

1

u/dawgz525 29d ago

It's like they're watching their neighborhood burn to the ground, but so far it's only burned some of the neighbors they hate, so it's okay still.

1

u/bballkj7 29d ago

> Look at their subreddits

No thanks, I’d rather not.

1

u/Maladaptive_Ace Canada 29d ago

eventually they have to admit they're into fascism.

What we have to start pointing out is what a Putin Puppet he is. America has become a vassal state for Russia. I bet that (very true) narrative would bother conservatives more, because it positions America as less-powerful-than

1

u/Relative_Radish9809 29d ago

And in less than 48 hrs, those dissenting voices will be banned. By mid-week those subreddits will be praising Trump for yet another 11-dimensional chess victory.

1

u/brundlfly 29d ago

"So please help me understand why it's not fascist? It's what fascists do."

1

u/Beno169 29d ago

“He’s his own worst enemy”

…he is the enemy

1

u/0bsessions324 Massachusetts 29d ago

Same principle as them acting like calling someone a racist is worse than actually being racist.

1

u/Goatiac 29d ago

It’s hilarious whenever Trump does something so wildly unpopular that even gives them pause, but then the last line is always “this is gonna give those lefties a field day!”

Maybe consider Trump is just a horrible person and president and stop making this a dumb sports team game?

1

u/N3wAfrikanN0body 29d ago

They're motivated not to see because by their own logic: they would be the threats to be neutralized in the name of national security.

The conniving amongst them will slither away, waiting for their next opportunity to graft onto new hosts for parasitize.

So the question is how to inoculate future hosts and neutralize the parasitic in waiting?

A start would beas drastic realloction of money and social capital away from the ownership class to ALL

1

u/midwestia 29d ago

They'll furrow their brows but still watch it religiously

1

u/wirefox1 29d ago

Oh they see it and they are wallowing in it. How many times do they say "THIS IS WHAT I VOTED FOR".

They hate our country, our democracy and our constitution, yet call themselves patriots. They are anti-patriots.

1

u/DroidLord 29d ago

Holy fuck, that "not a good look" gave me some visceral flashbacks. It's been their go-to for every shitty thing Trump has done. They're never going to admit they were wrong.

2

u/danishjuggler21 29d ago

Yeah, "Not a good look" was their first response to Alex Pretti's murder. Then they even allowed themselves to utter "I can't see any way to justify this." But then a couple days later it was "OH THANK GOD HE'D KICKED A TAILLIGHT, WE'RE OFF THE HOOK!"

1

u/orangehusky8 29d ago

He could shoot their dog in front of them and they would think the dog must've been a liberal.
