You are wrong. The plan is to grift as much money as they can. Selling Trump merch and Trump branded bibles. Advertising the products of the companies/individuals that are "loyal" to the president. All while funding it from our tax dollars.

I went on to GoodRX to look for something the other day, and i saw "TRUMP RX" all over the place.

Like what the actual fuck? These fucking chuds made Jimmy Carter get rid of his peanut farm but they'll suck Trump's peanuts as long as it makes them money. absolute fucking joke

Yeah Good Rx absolutely sucks now. I used to use it all the time when I worked in retail pharmacy, trying to help people who couldn't afford meds, and it was such a great tool 10 years ago. I just recently had to use it for myself and it's borderline unusable, pretty much just a shill to confuse you into buying "plans" to reduce your drug costs.

Pro tip: if you can't afford medication, try an independent mom-and-pop pharmacy. They will be faster, cheaper, and they need and appreciate your business, so they will go above and beyond to help you.

Try Cost Plus Drugs

Mark Cuban helped start it up and they’ve been pretty transparent with their costs that go into their prices, which in my experience has been usually the cheapest

Cost plus is the shit. It's cheaper to get my meds through then than go through insurance

Meanwhile, I'm about to pick up my monthly meds and I never have to pay for any of them. Wish you guys over there could say the same.

Why punch us while we're down

Cuban is still involved in a lot of the problems of billionaires, but at least he also does see real problems in the real world and tries to do something about them.

I'd rather him than people like Bezos by far. At least he's willing to pay taxes and supports higher tax on the rich.

CVS wanted $400/month for my seizure medication.

CostPlus is $60 - for a three month supply. It's a lifesaver.

I never heard of Cost Plus....I looked it up, and I love the idea! The independent pharmacy I used to work at actually operated on a similar concept. This was prior to the ACA passage and Medicaid expansion. The owner of the pharmacy had an agreement with a local FQHC (federally qualified health center: a federally funded clinic with sliding scale fees based on income, for uninsured adults). The FQHC would send their patients to us, and we'd charge those patients cost +6%. The owner calculated 6% as the cost of materials (vial, labels, bags, printer ink, etc) plus the labor of the tech. The owner did not include herself in the labor costs, and so never made a profit off those customers. We also had a few uninsured regulars who were struggling financially, and they got a cost +10% rate.

That pharmacy and the owner were such great assets to the community. It makes me so sad that the crash of '08 strangled the place, and then CVS came and opened up a store across the street, and put the final nail in the coffin by sucking away all the insured customers.

Yeah I love their transparency with the pricing. I girl I dated a few years ago has narcolepsy and needed some kind of prescription drug that basically put her to sleep for 8 hours each night (otherwise she’s unable to get into a deep sleep cycle/can’t really sleep at all)

Normally places would charge her insurances like $15k per month and give a coupon to discount it to like $300, but every year the charged costs would go over her insurance’s max around September-ish and she’d have to fight with them to not charge her $15k/month for the medicine she needs to sleep and basically stay alive/function

With CostPlus it was only like $300-$500/month or something insane

How does one find a pharmacy like this when surrounded by Fry, Walmarts, and Walgreens? :/

u/foley23 Pennsylvania Sep 21 '26

Depends on where you live. I'm in the Philadelphia suburbs and we have an absolute shit ton on mom and pops

2

u/AuntRhubarb 29d ago

Because they paid off the mortgage generations ago. Meanwhile out in the big-box outer ring suburbs, it's nothing but greedy chains trying to shovel money to private equity or wall street.

the curse of city living

8

u/kickaguard 29d ago

Those places exist everywhere and cities have local pharmacies. I live downtown in the city and there are more than a handful I can get to on public transportation. What a curse.

We actually normally use mom and pop, especially with the ADHD med shotage. I was more doing research for estimated costs and was looking for coupons.

4

u/aure__entuluva 29d ago

There's still an ADHD med shortage? It's been like 4 years of that.

2

u/permalink_save 29d ago

Idk of any mom and pop but I dwitched from cvs to grocery store and it's night and day. The pharmicists help you a lot instead of deferring everything to techs aside from questions and they'll spend a few minutes researching coupons. My dr sent over some nasal spray that was gonna be like $80 and they got the price cut in half. If Walgreens and CVS sidn't kill all the smaller pharmacies I'd go to one. Those two are pretty bad.

u/totokekedile 29d ago

I got a letter from the IRS today hawking Trump branded retirement plans. He's a plague.

Yep I switched to cost plus drugs. It's cheaper than anything but you have to keep an eye on everything with mail order because scripts and dates can get complicated When it's working I appreciate it showing up in the mail instead of having to drive somewhere.

I hate Trump as much as the next sane person but if I have to hear peanut farm one more time…..The court stipulates Jimmy Carter had to get rid of his peanut farm.

2

u/Peglegfish Sep 22 '26

The same courts captured by conservative political hacks at almost every level in most federal districts? Or are we only talking about the SC which has proven time and again to be Olympic-level champions at mental gymnastics to shield trump, stymie liberals, and overturn all legal constructs that impede conservatives bringing about rule of a single-party theocracy?

Those impartial courts?

1

u/shrimplypibbles2000 Sep 22 '26

Relax, I’m not your enemy

2

u/Peglegfish Sep 22 '26 edited Sep 22 '26

With apologies, I’m at the point where I go feral at even a whiff of something that could be construed as even an accidental defense of conservative hypocrisy.

I blame the press for sane washing trump. Every episode of npr politics podcast is effectively “here’s some absolutely illegal actions or blatant lies put forth by trump and his allies; if you are being extremely generous to the point of intellectual dishonesty, you could maybe justify it under this other principle that doesn’t even apply here, and this is why it hurts democrats…”

I blame the courts for being hacks and abandoning any ethics they ever had.

I blame congress for abandoning its duties; with a very special hatred for senate Republicans in 2021. Those assholes got their way and flipped the Supreme Court, while preventing Democratic majority in both houses. They actually had a safe window to jump off the tiger’s back, stick the landing, and eat their cake. Blame the democrats for impeachment in the first place and give some line about “rule of law” and “the facts” on news, and let maga cry and get mad at dems and culture wars for four years until the next presidential election. I don’t understand why they didn’t take their perfect opportunity to throw away trump for good after he won them all the power they originally craved. They couldn’t even consolidate power in a sustainable manner. Stupid assholes.

And of course, I blame biden for trying to run twice and nobody telling him not to; and the dnc going 0-2 on coronations vs trump.

u/shrimplypibbles2000 29d ago

I’m with you. It’s all very frustrating and makes us angry, as it should, but we have to be careful to not let our emotions make us irrational. I was just making a dumb joke about how I’ve heard the peanut farm thing 1000 times. We’re way past peanut farm when the potus can openly manipulate the stock market and profit billions with no consequences. I’m Canadian BTW, believe me I’m not happy with the way things are going.

I assume he's just sending it all to his Russian bank account because he needs an exit plan. 🌊

4

u/My-username-is-this Sep 21 '26

For some reason dude thinks he will live long enough to need an exit plan.

4

u/oily76 United Kingdom Sep 21 '26

Was going to say his exit plan is downwards.

3

u/KarlUnderguard Sep 21 '26

Yeah, I occasionally go on Truth Social to see what bullshit he is spewing and Jesus christ there are so many ads.

3

u/Available_Quote6073 Sep 21 '26

Don't forget that Trump has his own bank now

America...so embarrassing

3

u/chipmunksocute Sep 21 '26

Oh yeah Trump TV will need initial investments of course of ohhh 500M?  Im sure oligarchs and musk and other billionaire fucks will be more than happy to help this plucky media start up get going.

3

u/ravenous_bugblatter Sep 22 '26

Don't forget "staying out of jail" which includes being in power until he dies.

1

u/m_Pony Sep 22 '26

and pardons. those too.

1

u/thegoodnamesrgone123 Sep 22 '26

Sell bootleg Trump merch at Flea Markets. Those idiots don't deserve money.

1

u/angelar_ Texas 29d ago

That's never really a plan, it's just the native impulse.

1

u/drteq 29d ago

If you think this is the plan, then you fell for the real one
