Election day is coming up, so we're creating a discussion thread for questions about the propositions or other items on ballots.
You are welcome to share your views on any of the issues or candidates on the ballot for Valley residents.
Here are some links you might find useful:

r/Tucson 2026 Election Megathread
If you have other links or info, leave them in the comments. We may add them to the original post.
Keep in mind that our political rules are in full force here, so only regular members to this subreddit will be able to comment. And any personal attacks on other users will result in a ban.
The purpose of this thread to to create a civil space to discuss the elections and trolls, fear mongering, or comments that offer little or no value will be removed.

With the election coming up I want to refresh some of our rules around political posts and content.
We have a zero tolerance approach for violating these rules. So if you're not sure, DM us before you post.
Anything related to actions from a government or public agency. This includes city, state, and Federal agencies, and all laws and policies they control. So this includes elections, immigration, reproductive rights, military action, data centers, water rights, and so on.
This includes actions by Homeland Security, the FBI, and ICE. Given the current state of things, this also includes actions by all police and law enforcement agencies.
It also covers protests and all action against all the agencies listed above.
This is to clarify how we define it for the purpose of managing content in this subreddit. We're not trying to arbitrate semantics with all that's going on.
We have an election megathread pinned, which is the default place for questions you have about any of the local elections, proposition questions, and so on.
We will approve new posts about the election if the topic is unique or has good information. We are looking to strike a balance between the megathread and updated info as the election get closer.
If we remove a post of yours you can DM the moderators and ask about it. I also suggest visiting r/azpolitics if you want a more ongoing political discussion.
We are happy to explain why these rules are in place, but they will not be changing. These rules are here to preserve this subreddit as a valuable place for active members to have the discussions they wish. If you do not care for these rules, do not post here.

Set a bird feeder up to entertain our cats and I’m loving seeing the lovebirds. All else we get are urban doves, pigeons, and sparrows.

I've seen this building on E thomas road before (located by long wongs and nickel city) and its just so mysterious and strange. I've always wondered what this building is/what its used for.
I checked on google maps and apparently it's now an organic eating place. (previously it wasn't marked as that on google maps) if anyone knows what this building was/is used for, let me know.

There has been continues thunder and periodic lightning for at least 15 minutes now. Wild to hear the constant roar from the sky. Apparently there is a tornado warning coming in from Flagstaff as well. Crazy weather we’ve been having!

SPC (storm prediction center) is expecting some pretty gnarly storms for Arizona today. We actually have a 5% probability for tornados which is almost never. But mostly a couple rounds of severe thunderstorms capable of wind, hail and flooding. Stay safe everyone!!!

Edit: baseball size hail reported, more rounds of storms expected. Keeps yourself updated with a weather app or watch the radar yourself.
Edit: spelling

I'd do anything to go to a LAN party. Specifically for Halo. I've never experienced a LAN party before and it just seems to like a pure peak idea. I'm out in Yuma, AZ but are there any public Halo LAN Parties in PHX?

Long story short, I am considering getting a degree. The business I built and have sustained myself on since I was 18 is no longer a viable option, so I’ve been job hunting 🤡
I’ve always wished I pursued an academic path instead, but my business took off immediately and I was very lucky to ride that wave as long as I could.
My question is if anyone has experience with / advice regarding adults beginning their degree. Is ASU a good option?
I want to meet with a guidance counselor, but I am going to assume their job is to guide my money into tution payments. I would need extensive financial assistance, because this is objectively something I can not afford to do. I could justify a degree if there was an inexpensive way to go about the process. But I’m married and idk if the possibility of scholarships etc is even worth getting my hopes up for?
Any stories of similar experiences, or advice (specifically about the ASU question)?

Palo (that was his name), a tree since 2018 when we moved in that we planted. Gone. RIP Palo. You were definitely the showcase of our yard and neighborhood. I loved the shade you gave us doing yard work over the years.
This storm was nuts. Golf ball sized hail as well.

Sad to read. The Phoenix Symphony is canceling their current season. Negotiations are ongoing with musicians.

Did anyone else get that note? Is everyone okay? I'm stuck inside work, what does outside look like?

Just moved to Central Phoenix and I’d like to enter the AZ Canal at 12th St. and ride to Scottsdale for a Saturday morning breakfast. Any suggestions on breakfast spots and other canal riding tips?

Now that the weather is cooling down, where could I find a nice high foot-traffic area in Phoenix thats busy with people walking but not too unsafe or chaotic so I can train my dog to get comfortable in public.
edit
Something like a public plaza or area maybe?
He just needs a lil refresher on how to take a chill pill when in a over stimulating environment.
Where would you suggest?
