If you are mailing in your ballot, there are some developments at USPS. Please consider mailing earlier than usual.
An ongoing issue with USPS should be monitored closely. Please keep this in mind so that an alternative plan can be made.
U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani’s July 25 ruling that the USPS can’t refuse to deliver mail ballots to states that refuse to comply with the U.S. Justice Department’s (DOJ) demands for their unredacted voter lists will remain in place. SourceOn July 28: The United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia affirmed a lower court’s decision, holding that a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Trump’s March 2026 edict was premature because the administration hasn’t executed it yet. Source
A Massachusetts federal judge has repeatedly blocked the U.S. Postal Service from implementing President Donald Trump's mail-in voting executive order ahead of the midterms. Now that the injunction applies nationwide, the DOJ is telling the U.S. Supreme Court it has all it needs to swiftly issue a stay. Source
The SAVE America Act is still in play as of July 26 and may affect voting. Please consider getting all of your paperwork in order. Note that it can take several weeks to get documents on marriage and legal name changes. The PA Real ID is not compliant with the Save America Act. Update As of August 12, the Senate has gone on recess without passing the SAVE America Act.
Dates to remember
You don't need Real ID to vote. Your state ID or license is sufficient at least for now. Here's a document outlining the ID requirements

Civil rights attorney Ben Crump has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the University of Pennsylvania claiming that a police officer fired a Taser at 52-year-old Ronald Harmon and caused the injury that killed him.
According to Crump, Harmon died from a head injury he sustained while getting hit with a Taser on Nov. 5, 2024. The attorney also said that the Taser was wrongfully deployed in the encounter.

Just moved to the area from out of state and decided to go on a walk in the historic East Harrisburg Cemetery. For background, my family owns a funeral home and I worked at a historic cemetery in New York City for two years, with previous historic site experience before that.
I am by no means someone who likes the modern, traditional cemetery look. I think it's tacky, boring, and sterile. However, I'm confused about the East Harrisburg Cemetery. Does anyone work there? It's so overgrown, has dead trees falling in between row and groundhog holes are literally everywhere.
The cemetery has so much potential as an active cemetery but also as a historic landmark. Is it supposed to look like this? Is that the vibe?
The website has 0 information and all of the Yelp reviews are predictably bad, but there's like none.
I'm also from a rural region with an urban inner city that had 0 funding, so I get it if that's the vibe. But like what????

I think it's really silly that we as a state don't offer any form of early in-person voting aside from mail-in (EDIT: I'm wrong about this, but it's still very much not a graceful solution and is poorly advertised enough that I couldn't find it while researching before making this post), and while dropping mail-in votes at designated boxes certainly is nice, I don't really think it works as a full substitution.
In theory, what would be the best way for a concentrated effort to get rolling to get this state on board with early voting in future elections?

On a windy day in February of 2024, as a winter storm was brewing in a small Pennsylvania township in Luzerne County, the township’s lawyer scored a lucrative contract that would bring him a payout of at least $450,000.
Salem Township’s solicitor, Anthony McDonald, and his law firm made a deal for McDonald’s work related to an Amazon data center: his law firm would get 7.5% of the final amount that Amazon would pay the township as part of a community benefits agreement — a legal contract between developers and local governments to compensate residents, ideally, for costs associated with the project.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) owns the data center in Salem Township. Because Amazon wholly owns AWS, this story refers to AWS simply as Amazon.

Good day everyone. I have a unique situation and am in need of a Master Plumber that can work and pull permits in the Reading area. The Plumber must have all their paperwork/certifications in order. If you know of anyone, please send me their information. Thank you.
