Build Help / Purchase Advice Budget motherboard+ i5 14600k
Will the MSI PRO B760M-P DDR4 (it has no vrm heatsinks) support an i5-14600KF? I'm limiting it to 125W anyway. trying to maximize the use of this motherboard cause I plan to upgrade it in a couple of months alongside the GPU.

A 12400 I would trust on a motherboard without VRM (have two running on low-end H610 motherboards)
But anything above that, 12600K, 13600K and 14600K ehh... a decent'ish VRM with heatsink is highly recommended.

No, don't buy this motherboard; I made this mistake a while back. Either buy a B760 or B660 with a heatsink, or buy a Z690 or Z790. If it doesn't have a heatsink, the CPU will cook the VRM, and that will lead to either a big drop in performance or shutdown, and if it is happening a lot, there is a risk it will fry the motherboard and a very slim chance the CPU with it.
