Yeah it seemed pretty obvious the guy was milking it so he could inflate his crypto coin while hiding behind that moral high ground shit about gamers having to stand against these evil corporations. His excuse was he needed money to cover operational costs lmao. Was he moving around the world like James Bond while rockstar sent assassins after him?

You've got to remember that these are just simple gamers. These are people of the Internet — the common clay of the online world. You know... morons.

Gaming used to be a niche club and growing up u had a lot of parents say gaming is a waste of time to their kids... not anymore, gaming is now something universal, it is global, almost every1 games or has gamed at some point, so when u say gamers u might as well say "the general population", gaming is not a niche club anymore, the avg gamer's knowledge (or iq if u will) isn't much better than the avg person's (who may or may not game)

There are plenty of brainless people out there. It’s the same type of people that click on the obvious scam emails and then get mad when their identity gets stolen.

i think the vast majority of the buyers were aware it’s a donation to him in return for leaked game material. If you didn’t know that and you donated to him then you deserve to be scammed.

You don't have to add an apostrophe to make something plural.

Was he moving around the world like James Bond while rockstar sent assassins after him?

Heard about Hasbro sending the god damn Pinkertons after a guy that randomly got a hold of a booster pack he shouldn't have before release?

I wouldn't put it past Take-Two.

Seemed? He was openly doing that. He was asking for and taking money as payment for more leaks.

It was transactional, intentional, and public knowledge. We paid him to do it for these reactions.

Yeah it was clear from the jump. The only people who thought it was a “real crypto coin” (as if that exists) were the complete morons

I saw quite a lot of people parrot the whole "that theory is dead, he wouldn't have burned his dev tokens if he was" with complete sincerity.

They of course were unable to give any actual alternative reason that made any kind of sense but when delusions set in you just fill it in with hope I guess.

Was like the discord hackers leaking IDs and children's data and blaming discord for it

27

u/Kodamacile Aug 27 '26

No, Discord is absolutely a shitty, irresponsible, insecure company, that should not be trusted.

Still just feels like cheap viral marketing like the Sonic movie thing.
