News/Article Bombshell lawsuit alleges that RAM manufacturers are colluding to drive up prices. Three companies that account for 90% of RAM revenue are being sued for anti-competitive practices. Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron (the "DRAM Triarchy" controlling ~90-95% of the global DRAM market)

it's another one of those throw shit around and hope something comes from it

their arguments are awful, they have no real logic, and there is no "price fixing".

demand vs production

that's all it is.

Again, I’ll reserve judgement until I can actually read the lawsuit.

You don't need to read the lawsuit. Those are just allegations.

I can sue you and in it, call you a dog fucking monster. That doesn't make it true.

You can read/listen the companies shareholder calls, where they legally have to tell the truth or they can actually be sued for very real money and damages, and see that their profits and margins are insane on corporate HBM ram sales compared to retail sales. That is the truth of it. They are moving production as much as they can to higher profit products/customers. This means that the small supply for retail customers are now in higher demand. Yes, this does push their margins up on the retail side, but not even close to the HBM profits, and if they did go back to retail, they would fix the supply issue and the margins would go back to "normal".

This isn't a conspiracy. We knew this was coming months before it happened. There were news articles telling people that the price was going up, and it was going to be that way for years. None of this is shadow business, just what happens when infinite money goes after finite supply.
