Answered Mod Application Link Not Working

I'm on desktop, trying to share a mod application link for my sub r/askteddit. For some reason, the link appears to be telling users "You can’t apply to moderate this community right now." I've double-checked that I have the correct link, and tried closing and re-opening applications several times. It gives this error on my own account, and some of our users have shared that they get the same error too. Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

This is the link that I'm trying to use, copied directly from the mod tools interface.

EDIT: I just checked mod mail and it appears we got one application several hours ago, so perhaps the applications are working for some users and not others. I'm not sure what's happening.

Hi /u/IAmA_tomato_AMA, please see our Intro & Rules. We are volunteer-run, not managed by Reddit staff/admin. Volunteer mods' powers are limited to groups they mod. Automated responses are compiled from answers given by fellow volunteer mod helpers. Moderation works best on a cache-cleared desktop/laptop browser.

Resources for mods are: (1) r/modguide's Very Helpful Index by fellow moderators on How-To-Do-Things, (2) Mod Help Center, (3) r/automoderator's Wiki and Library of Common Rules. Many Mod Resources are in the sidebar and >>this FAQ wiki<<. Please search this subreddit as well. Thanks!

This happens sometimes. Your link works fine for me on the web. It didn’t work on the Android app, but I can get to the application from your highlighted post on the sub.

You will get a message that you can’t apply cause you’re already a mod.

Thank you! Glad to hear it works in most places.

These things have misbehaved since they were rolled out.
