I don't mean to split hairs, but you haven't lost it, it's right there.

Speaking of haunting, do you feel more like your normal self now that that thing is out?

Finally, that one episode where Batman finds a hair makes sense!
Edit: man, thanks for the award, first one ever!

It looks like you had multiple hairs growing out of one follicle, and some of the pieces broke off but continued being together at the root, grew, snapped, repeat

I was going to say that I had pili multigemini in my beard and while I didn't ever grow it out to get that long, the fused hairs aren't really forged as much as smooshed and held together through physical force and will separate back into their bits when rolled between the fingers. I never got them in my scalp but occasionally i think one of my eyebrow follicles will split one out.

Have you checked recently to see if the entirety of your hair is just a clump of harvestmen?

As a guy with short hair I get these whenever I let it grow to medium length

u/quartzquandary 11h ago
When growing your hair out, a big part of the process is regularly trimming it to prevent split ends like this!

u/ProffesionalCow 11h ago
How regular are we talking

u/quartzquandary 7h ago
If it's fairly short to begin with, once a month. The longer it is, the less often you need to trim it.

From what part of your body, if you don’t mind me asking?

That’s just a neural implant. They fall out of your ear. When they are replaced.

I’m like 79% sure that’s actually some kind of plant material.
Do you have hanging planters with a fluffy potting mix your head could have bumped?

Or a feather from laying on a pillow? Missing a lot of feather strand thingies?

I sometimes get weird hairs like that in my beard. I also get super thick hairs, mutant white ones. I looked it up a while ago and apparently it is part of alopecia barbosa and no one knows exactly why it happens. Your own body attacks the hair follicles and it produces weird hairs. Mine comes and goes, never really noticeable to anyone but me.

I pulled one out of my neck like this one time. It was always a thicker hair than the others and I got tired of it and pulled it. It looked identical to this.

That’s a walking hair insect, much like the more well known walking stick insect. The walking hair insect clings to your hair and feeds on your scalp’s sebum and skin flakes. It’s completely harmless unless backed into a corner.

Looks like you're trying to evolve feathers. If you can find someone with similar hair and have children, humanity could go interesting places.
