Wife signed up for an artists to charged her $700 a session…but never set a length of time for those sessions. The artist would complain about hand pain and call it short sometimes but still expect $700 plus tip after each session “because that’s what they agreed to”.

I explained to my wife she was getting ripped off but was too embarrassed to admit it. Eventually after a few sessions got cut short, she saw the light and pretended she ran out of money for the tattoo.

She ended up paying like $3000 for this medium/large sized tattoo. At least it looks good but i showed her other tattoos for a similar price and she really saw how much she was getting taken advantage of.

Yeah it just sucks because we wanted to support a local artist but they turn it into this nasty experience. My wife just took all the artists info at face value and felt they were being genuine.

Yes but the consumer has to be knowledgeable about what they are buying

Just because she was not knowledgeable about it, doesn’t give an artist the right to rip her off. That’s called a scam.

That's why I said "yes." But she wasn't necessarily scammed. She bought into a bad deal because she wasn't informed. "Scam" is a crime. What happened to her was not a crime. It happened because she was uneducated. If she was educated, then she would not have been taken advantage of.
