I hate that game, I hate that I hate that game and I hate that the chuds jumped on the hate train for all the wrong reasonings

I do blame the BioWare for throwing out almost everything that made the series great and it damn sure wasn’t the diversity that made it bad

I just feel… kinda awful… empty. most my top 5 games ever are BioWare games

This exactly. It's not like getting rid of the diversity would've magically made the game a masterpiece lol, diversity had nothing to do with it.

Diversity had a little bit to do with it... or rather how you handle it in the game, if you do it like bg3 its good, because its not a lecture in progresivenes. If you let the story suffer in your attemt to lecture people, its bad.

Metaphor is literally an entire story about how social justice is good and has a stat dedicated to how woke you are.

It doesn’t get more hamfisted than that. Yet the game is still incredible.

Diversity was never the issue. If a game’s writing is bad, it’s because it’s poorly written. Not because of “diversity”.

I have not played it so cant say but if i understand you the story is about, or have a general theme of social justice? And thats fine, the problem i se is when someone tries to shohorn a message in to a game and the story suffers from it. "Suffers from" is ofcours subjective but I feel like there have been a few games the last couple of years that suffers from it. So diversity is not the culprit per se but the implementation, hence my: "little bit" :-)

That’s kind of the issue. If the story is “suffering from it”, then it’s suffering from more than just “diversity”, right?

So the issue is that the writing as a whole is poor. Taking away the diversity isn’t going to make a poorly written narrative any better.
