Sad day to be a Mass Effect fan

Legit crushed

Of all the games that I was looking forward to before I inevitably turn to dust

A proper Mass Effect continuation was one of them 💔

Well fuck, I am also legit crushed. I was really looking forward to a new Mass Effect game, and I just like Bioware in general. This is really shitty news yall

To be honest I had no faith left in them. Not after Veilguard. I just can't see a good ME game coming out from Bioware anymore.

I think our next hope is Owlcat and The Expanse game.

That Exodus game looks promising too! Drew Karpyshyn is one of the dev studio's founders behind it.

The best parts of Veilguard were allegedly from the Mass Effect team though lol, like the final “suicide mission.”

The gameplay was very Mass Effect and it was good, just not Dragon Age.

Problem was the writing.

Yeah agreed, there were still some decent story and character beats though. I find it annoying how people are blaming the death of BioWare on Veilguard when it wasn’t even a bad game, it was a decent game tarnished by development hell and poor marketing.

While my faith in them was shaken with Veilguard, I had some amount of hope that they learned some things.

I wish they had been spun off.

I still had a little bit of hope. Especially with Mary DeMarle in charge of the narrative. I guess we'll never find out now.

A friend just told me "Bye-Byeoware". 🙃

While I love Owlcat, the expanse game looks so damn rough.

I think Exodus has a better chance of succeeding

I mean hey, Larian picked up Baldur's Gate where BioWare left off. Maybe a great studio will pick up Mass Effect and make another entry for the ages

I can believe somebody picking up Mass Effect eventually. EA is prolly happy to sell the BW IPs eventually. And/or reboot 'em, in time.

•

Maybe they'll sell off the IP to someone? I dont know how much demand there is for another game but I know there are at least dozens of us

proper Mass Effect continuation

That wasn't happening under current Bioware so their closure changes nothing on this front.

EDIT: blocked for speaking the truth? lol

I’m still waiting for KOTOR 3 😭

It'd certainly hurt more if I had any semblance of confidence left in their management. They announced and teased ME4 years and years ago with practically no update since then. It just pisses me off when companies announce a game that is clearly still in the infancy stages in a time where games can take a decade (if not longer) to develop. Then you had the complete anti-gamer game that was Veilguard.

Also, ❤️ btw.

Trust me, you would have been disappointed. It's best to let the story end where it already ended. It's called an end for a reason

I never had faith that a fulfilling continuation was going to happen. The original trilogy was the Mass Effect story. Any sequel or offshoot would have paled in comparison, in addition to cementing one of the end-game decisions of ME3 as canon. A prequel focused on the Protheans might have worked, but would have to forego all of the races already established, including humanity. A prequel based on the Krogan war could also likely be interesting, but would have an obvious, foregone conclusion which is the bane of so many prequels.

Look on the bright side, at least we won't be seeing Liara punishing herself by doing push up because she misgendered Wrex.

More seriously RIP to the best RPG ever made.
