Fuck EA, fuck Saudi Arabia. Honestly it was copium thinking they weren't going to mess with Mass Effect somehow...but I didn't expect full BioWare closure...

Well maybe if their last 3 games weren't a total clusterfuck and they'd develop shit faster than "Early Development" on a mass effect game they announced 6 years ago, they wouldn't be closing.

Surely EA gutting their studio every 3 years has only positive effects on game development

Oh EA ain't innocent either. Scumbags and all that. But based on how the Anthem development went, abandoning Andromeda, Veilguard development....can't say its all EA. Bioware had a serious leadership issue and mismanagement.

We've seen what no EA meddling did to Bioware, it's called Anthem.

We've seen what EA pushing them over did, it's called Mass Effect trilogy.

the blame falls on Bioware, Saudis paid 55 billion for EA, right now they want anything to make money to get out of the 18 billion in debt that they pay 1.8 billion in interest every YEAR, how the fuck is a game announced 6 years ago still in early development wtf were they doing? Andromeda and Anthem and Veilguard have been tragic, sad it happened but this isn’t the Bioware that made the Trilogy

Mass Effect being put on hold during Dragon Age's development was directly a decision made by EA

Agree that bioware have been fucking about and this was inevitable, but..

It’s actually so fucked that you can buy a perfectly good asset, saddle it with the debt used to buy it, and make that everyone else’s problem.

Its Biowares fault for taking a ton of money and not doing anything all the time. They announced starting work on the next ME game in 2020, its 2026 and they haven't even started. Today's game studios just straight up embezzle money. Taking years and MILLIONS of dollars then deliver absolute slop that has no business being that expensive.

Honestly, closing them is letting them go easy. What they did with the development money of 6 years? That's called fraud in so many other fields, and it's a pretty big crime.

Yep exactly. Fuck both of them. Too many ppl just putting blame on EA.

What Saudi Arabia? Saudis made Veilguard, a fetish ridden sitcom sounding fanfic?
