I honestly fear for the open-minded future of our franchise. Mass Effect was a big part of my life, and I loved that it tackled topics that might be controversial in its own way. It was never in your face, but subtle enough to be believable... especially with the choice of a badass female Shepard.

Let's hope they don't meddle too much, too quickly...

I'm not convinced anyone knows what Mass Effect "is" in 2026, besides a trilogy of great games that ended over a decade ago. Considering the almost impressive degree of mismanagement after that there's really not much left to jeopardize. They'll do whatever they want.

People say that about every franchise before it instantly shoots to the top. Halo is the best example of this.

How is Halo an example of this? Every game since Reach has launched to a middling reception, with support for Infinite being cut short in spite of their plans to support it for a long, long time.

Mass Effect has been MIA for a long time and the last game was a disaster. The new one will have to hit the mark 110% for it to recover the franchise.

“Middling reception” Dog it’s a top seller on every platform right now. Stop with the lies.

Infinite got the most post launch support of any Halo game ever made. Reach was hated when it launched by a good section of the halo community. It still is as well.

But go ahead and keep lying to yourself. It’s clear you’re someone who gets their opinions from online grifters

Weird conclusion there at the end but okay.

I hope the new Mass Effect turns out great but considering just how bad they mishandled Andromeda it's hard to stay hopeful. All I'm saying, really.
