https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/indisputed#English

Adjective indisputed (comparative more indisputed, superlative most indisputed)

(obsolete) Undisputed.

https://www.oed.com/dictionary/indisputed_adj?tl=true

This word is now obsolete. It is last recorded around the 1810s.

https://grammarphobia.com/blog/2019/07/indisputable-undisputed.html

Look, you can continue to use the term if you want, nobody's going to arrest you for it, but don't act surprised when people try to correct you if you do.

That's the thing though. Everyone knows exactly what I mean.

It's like if I said "the silenced pistol you get in Citadel DLC" and you came back to say "actually it's called the M-11 Suppressor and silencers aren't actually a real thing".

Sure we do, but we assume you don't know how to spell because the word you're using hasn't been recorded in literature for over 200 years.

It's like if I said "the silenced pistol you get in Citadel DLC" and you came back to say "actually it's called the M-11 Suppressor and silencers aren't actually a real thing".

Not a valid comparison at all, "the silenced pistol you get in the Citadel DLC" is a vague description and "actually it's called the M-11 Suppressor" is a specific description. They are not mutually exclusive, and neither is linguistically obsolete, whereas you are using a variation of a common term that hasn't been widely used since around the time of the industrial revolution.

Again, it is not a crime, keep using it if you want, but people are going to be grammar nazis about it going forward because it's so uncommon it sounds like a misspelling.

It's an irrelevant correction though because it does not lead to increased understanding.

If someone said they visited Versailles when they were in Paris it would be correct for me to say that Versailles sits outside the city and that you actually went to another city; but also utterly pedantic.

Fewer vs Less

Alot vs a lot vs allot

To vs two vs too

All examples of "sure you corrected a person, but added virtually nothing to the conversation". Something I had to learn as an autistic person; some corrections are just a distraction

Why use many word when few word do trick

It's sad that you see it that way, because from my perspective we've both learned more about the english language than we knew 20 minutes ago, and I can't see that as anything but a net gain.

I'm mostly confused that you felt the need to do it to two separate posts. Sure, one post for the correction is whatever; but twice is like "uhhh okay?".

Oh, I glazed over the username and thought it was two different posters.

I think the moment hits basically the same. He just says "child" instead of "son".

I'm ride or die femshep, but that's one scene where it just fits better.

Nah there's plenty of times when maleShep is better. Romance options alone play a big part.

u/admiraltarkin Feb 18 '26

I wouldn't say "indisputedly" in those cases. Like I wouldn't say Ashley is head and shoulders better than Thane for instance.

I will say that " you did good, son" >>>> "you did good, child"

u/GVArcian Feb 18 '26

I wouldn't say "indisputedly" in those cases.

You shouldn't say that in any case because it's spelled "indisputably".

3

u/doubleshotinthedark Feb 18 '26

well of course, Ashley only appears in one game

It's quite clear that

u/Makeupanopinion Feb 18 '26

Yeah but you would say that if you're a man with certain preferences? I enjoyed the romance options as femshep probs far more than if I played as maleshep since i'm a woman
