We were in the UK a couple years ago and saw Carhartt was blowing up there as a fashion statement. It was weird seeing Carhartt sold in clothing boutiques in London and Copenhagen knowing in the US people wear it to stay warm while digging ditches.

1

u/CattleVisible1060 5h ago

I believe this would have been Carhartt WIP (work in progress) which is thier fashion line. Regular carhartt worn in NA is different than that and usually built to a higher standard for workwear.

1

u/gypsytron 2h ago

Wip came out of the skate scene who wore Carhart for the durability

I guess its gatekeeping season

Reddit will never beat the incel allegations. “Hehe pretty girl wearing a beanie, slut”

12

Dude Reddit is either right wing misogynistic red pill nonsense or far left everything offends them louts. No one lives in the middle anymore it's just extremes.

4

u/Doodiewater 3h ago

It’s hard being in the middle. Both sides hate you.

2

u/wooden-fuk-boi 3h ago

A leader who rules with fear will never be loved, and a leader who rules with love will never be feared.

Wooden-fuk-boi is dropping pearls

2

u/wooden-fuk-boi 2h ago

Thank you! Many a mideveil scholars are you be praised, I am but a lowley fuk-boi made of wood much a like Pinocchio

2

u/foreverandadayalone 2h ago

Which begs the question: who wants a leader that inspires fear in their people?

1

u/wooden-fuk-boi 1h ago

A people at war

2

u/foreverandadayalone 1h ago

If your people are at war with each other, you've been a terrible leader.

1

u/wooden-fuk-boi 52m ago

Not with eachother. . .you see how I said "a people"

2

u/foreverandadayalone 45m ago

🙄 Okay, dude. Yeah, it's impossible to interpret that any way other than your obscure intent. Fuck off.

1

u/Which_Accountant_736 3h ago

That is so true, it’s honestly depressing.

Reddit is brogressive.

I fully endorse this statement

-1

u/lemonjuice707 5h ago

To be fair they literally say on their website that they exist to protect hardworking people. So it’s semi fair to point out that you’re not their demographic

2

u/BoondockUSA 3h ago

Spoiler: It’s called marketing. They market to people who like to think they’re hardworking.

With the exception of some of their winter outerwear, Carhartt quality has become trash for actual blue collar hardworkers.

For the Nike pants comparison, it would be like if Nike started making pants with lounging as the primary goal instead of being actual sportswear.

1

u/lemonjuice707 3h ago

Funny enough, I just said their quality had gone down too. I haven’t gotten new Carhartt since 2020 because it doesn’t last any more like it used to.

I agree overall tho, Carhartt is going more towards a “hard working brand” but it’s just designer over price garbage now.

1

u/ImprobableAsterisk 4h ago

You've got a very broken gauge for what's fair and what ain't.

This is like whining that someone is wearing Nike sweatpants when lounging about. Utterly fucking nonsensical.

1

u/lemonjuice707 4h ago

What a terrible example, a hard working person or athlete (using your Niki example) can still lounge around.
It’s like the person who doesn’t work out or exercise wearing gym shark. Just like Carhart, gym shark is an aggressive brand that overtly says who their customers base is.

1

u/ImprobableAsterisk 3h ago

Oh sure, it ain't the best example.

But this is so fucking nonsensical that I'm having a hard time respecting you as a person. Apologies, carry on.

1

u/lemonjuice707 3h ago

It’s fine? You don’t need to respect me at all. It’s Reddit broski, it ain’t that deep

1

u/ImprobableAsterisk 3h ago

No but seriously I make no distinction between someone like you, and someone who'd rant and rage at some poor bastard wearing Nike while sitting down.

Like you can think that's a bad example and I can kinda see how, but it's a fucking hat. What kinda ass gives a shit about who it was originally made for?

1

u/lemonjuice707 3h ago

Okay?

It’s a brand built around a certain group, I personally don’t care but I have notice soft hand people wearing Carhartt. I’ve also notice their quality getting worst.

1

u/ImprobableAsterisk 3h ago

Aye, and I notice people WALKING when wearing Nike. Can you fucking believe it? It ain't even brisk!

1

u/lemonjuice707 3h ago

Once again, terrible example. It’s like wearing hokas but you never go running. It’s just silly to spend that much money even tho you never run.

At this point Something tells me you got soft hands and wear Carhartt lol

u/Many_Ear2407 5h ago

It’s just funny to wear work clothes as fashion. Like wearing a band shirt of a band you’ve never listened to or a jersey from a sport you don’t even watch

37

u/Ok_Bus_3752 6h ago

What else she gonna do when her boyfriend is overseas on a 6 month deployment?

32

u/John-Orion 6h ago

6 months... Ok Airforce

11

u/Thunder_Two 5h ago

I was 14 and 1/2 months into my deployment when some Marines on their way out were bitching about their 9 month deployment in the MWR.

I had to resist a powerful urge to butt-stroke him into a deeper appreciation of context.

2

u/420_69_Fake_Account 5h ago

I thought it was don’t ask don’t tell?

4

u/Daytona765 5h ago

That was repealed in like 2011 lol

4

u/Thunder_Two 5h ago

What is this even supposed to mean?

0

u/420_69_Fake_Account 4h ago

How handsome were the Marines that you “had to resist a powerful urge to butt-[fuck] him”?

You didn’t need to tell us how gay you are so I joked don’t ask don’t tell.

2

u/Thunder_Two 4h ago

Oh, is that what that incredibly on the nose joke meant? It had all the subtlety of a marching band.

Let me be more on the nose — your joke sucked. DADT has been gone for fifteen years and what kind of developmental disorder do you have where you though that fifth grade humor was going to land?

1

u/CalHudsonsGhost 5h ago

Marines?🤔😬I wonder if they were doing anything different in their nine months than your time, that made them bitch more🤔🤔

2

u/Thunder_Two 5h ago

They were attached to my battalion, so no. They did the same shit as us, but for less time.

5

u/Krisitchelle 5h ago

4

u/Ok_Bus_3752 5h ago edited 5h ago

Fuck if I know how long Army goes on deployments. Did I over shoot? What do they do … 3 months?

Edit: prior marine here, I’m just razzing all of you.

3

u/OkWelcome6293 5h ago

Army is usually 12 months, but I have seen ARNG deployments of 18 months with a prior 6 month train up period.

1

u/Eren_Yeager52 5h ago

Holy crap. We are not at war. There is no reason to go on deployments like that and leave the wife behind.

3

u/pbnjandmilk 5h ago

Jodie don't mind, hell he don't care.

1

u/PresenceZero 5h ago

Ayo bro don’t give a damn lol

1

u/OkWelcome6293 5h ago

The super long deployments were a result of the “troop surge” in Iraq in 2007 and were not “normal” but are technically legal as US law has a maximum of 23 month activation periods for reserves.

1

u/Eren_Yeager52 5h ago

I have no problem with deployments during peacetime. But in general you should be able to take your wife if they extend beyond 6 months as long as you are deployed into a non-combat zone. The military frowns on infidelity but they seem to make all the decisions that make it easier to happen.

1

u/PresenceZero 5h ago

Army occupy a base so when the deploy they’re deploying to replace the previous command that was there.

In the Marines we probably go on MEUs which can be anywhere between 6-12 months. If we’re actually in a wartime we will deploy like the army and do MEUs.

1

u/Eren_Yeager52 5h ago

So why can't everyone just bring their families. Is it because of barracks and everyone needing to sleep like sardines or what?

1

u/PresenceZero 5h ago

Bring their families on a deployment lol. That would be a terrible idea.

1

u/CalHudsonsGhost 5h ago

We have BEEN at war so long, you don’t even know man, YOU DONT EVEN KNOW!

Nah but for real, I’m supper glad I didn’t marry in the military. Many soldiers know about “The Big Apple” and the notorious line out the door when a unit leaves. You haven’t lived until you’ve heard a stone cold killer climb the “What do you mean you won’t be there” latter 2 weeks from coming home while crying in a phone cubicle and with the fear that his sobs might turn into rage while you’re in your own cubicle just trying to ask your brother if he secured the Kim K. Playboy for you. He didn’t. All those chicks at The Big Apple, they wear Carhartt.

1

u/foreverandadayalone 2h ago

We are not at war.

Have you told the Iranians who are getting war crimed by the US??

1

u/Eren_Yeager52 2h ago

We are not at war as in there is no country capable of going to war against us. All our enemies in the middle east are just low level street thugs with weapons Obama sold them.

2

u/John-Orion 5h ago

Lol I'm AF too, I thought they where still a year

2

u/PresenceZero 5h ago

5 deployments....

3 1/2 months (was supposed to be 6 but mission ended early)

15 months

14 months

13 months

6 months

It really depends.

1

u/BloodshedTom 5h ago

You call her Stephanie? I call her Headphanie

8

u/Project807 5h ago

I have a white collar job in a blue collar environment. Any time I have to put on my hard hat and steel toes I feel like Zoolander heading down to the mine.

31

u/SmootherWorm 5h ago

Pretty sure 80% of Carhartt is not bought by people that do stereotypical blue-collar jobs.

16

u/JWDed 4h ago

My dog has a Carhartt jacket and that som bitch hasn’t worked a day in his life.

3

u/rudehuskie 3h ago

If he's a working breed, might still have some cred

1

u/JWDed 2h ago

lol He’s a Doodle!

2

u/WeeeeBaby_Seamus 4h ago

Everyone calls my dog lazy and I always defend him. Being 24 hour security is exhausting work.

1

u/LCSpartan 4h ago

But what color is his collar?

3

u/JWDed 4h ago

Ironically enough blue.

5

u/Snipethorn 4h ago

A blue collar guy that drools and can chew on his own balls. He could make site manager

5

u/Evil_phd 5h ago

I've worked Blue Collar all my life and literally the only Carhartt I've ever seen anybody wear were "Employee Appreciation" gifts from the company.

2

u/SmootherWorm 5h ago

That’s the other trick is Carhartt isn’t cheap. Probably owners and bosses that need that blue collar look are wearing it.

0

u/Much-Conversation271 4h ago

wtf? It's not expensive and a lot of blue collar work pays well

I work in aerospace and make $50/hr, a carhartt jacket is less than 3 hours of pay lol

1

u/Rottentaste 5h ago

That's only when they had a back end deal at that I'd bet.

1

u/CrowsInTheNose 5h ago edited 4h ago

Really? Over half every job site I'm on is carhartt. My winter carhartt is in it's fourth season.

2

u/AKblazer45 4h ago

Yeah their winter work gear is still the best. Duck canvas jackets and coveralls are just hard to beat.

4

u/BigTroutOnly 5h ago

Im evidence of this. The flannels are really nice

6

u/Bureaucratic_Dick 5h ago

Balderdash! The company requires you to prove you work in blue collar fields just to purchase their wares, and if you try to obtain by third party means they litigate! They don’t want a dime of money that doesn’t come from underpaid and overworked people! /s

3

u/Krisitchelle 5h ago

ehhh, I see a lot of beanies and jackets on people who don't look like they work in the trades now.

10 years ago everyone I saw in Carhartt were tradies or farmers.  I'd be curious to see a stat but I'm sure it doesn't exist

2

u/BoondockUSA 3h ago

It’s not something that you’re imagining. Carhartt transitioned from being a workwear company to being a fashion company, meaning out with super durable heavy denims and in with less durable denims that are more comfortable than durable (like stretch denims).

Actual blue collar workers took notice and stopped buying Carhartts like they used to.

Online retailers also changed what blue collar workers are buying. They aren’t limited anymore to what their local farm store sells, nor are modern blue collar workers less adverse to buying online.

1

u/Dry-Professional-552 2h ago

My theory is a trend like the hipsters. Formerly metro dudes wearing logging boots, beards, and plaid shirts. It’s like stolen valor.

You’re totally right about them turning into a fashion company but there was a fashion trend that made folks want to look blue collar. I’m sure some people wear it and have no idea that’s the reason it started.

1

u/ACK_TRON 1h ago

They sold their brand out…just like John Deere and CAT. Chasing almighty $$

2

u/Significant_Dare_204 1h ago

I bought one cause I don’t like leather and needed something durable to ride my bike in. 🤷

2

u/Krisitchelle 17m ago

that's cool!  they are warm and reasonably priced.  Carhartt has changed in response though and is doing "fast fashion" shitty manufacturing.

The mainstreaming and enshittification of Carhartt is what has tradies upset seeing regular people in Carhartt apparel.  they are moving onto other brands though now and the cycle will continue

2

u/Significant_Dare_204 12m ago

I’m 44 well aware and have had mine for years.

1

u/Krisitchelle 9m ago

cool man, enjoy!

1

u/Significant_Dare_204 6m ago

You’re not wrong about the quality going to crap though the ones I’ve bought for my kids have fallen apart pretty quickly.

1

u/CalHudsonsGhost 5h ago

You think they got a section of cute stuff at Dicks for anything but soccer moms? 😂🤣When I see dudes that work around here, if they have Carhartt, it’s disgusting or their fanciest shirt. One of the greatest things about their life is meeting that chick with nice new clean Carhartt beanies and other apparel on because for certain, it is a mating call for “pipe layers.” They love those dudes and usually only those types. In my area, If they can keep one and he works his ass off everyday, you’ll catch the lady stepping out of a Tahoe she can barely drive at Dicks, to get their kids some Carhartt shit. I feel like I’ve witnessed the Carharttian circle of life over and over.

1

u/OrchidUnable8316 5h ago

I was wearing Carharrt in the 90s (UK) when I was a university student. Well, not that much as it was too expensive for me but richer, definitely not blue collar students were wearing it a lot.

0

u/snakesandsparklers40 1h ago

Why does their need to be a stat. They make quality clothing that keeps you warm. Who gives a fuck if you work in a trade lmao

1

u/abracadammmbra 1h ago

They used to make quality clothing that keeps you warm and held up to abuse. Ever since the yuppies started wanting to look like they were useful, they downgraded the quality and jacked up prices. I still have my carhartt jacket from 2011 and other than some oil stains, its still going strong. The newer stuff is noticeably worse. Just does not hold up to the wear and tear on job sites like it used to. I dont buy carhartt anymore, it would be more useful to set the money on fire.

1

u/snakesandsparklers40 1h ago

Depends on what you get. I still buy their thick pocket tees.  $19 to $25 for a shirt and i on average get 5 years or more out of them depending on the abuse I put them through. I dont buy any of their thinner cheap shit that's stylish. Thick wind and resistant zip ups and pocket tees. All I need

1

u/Krisitchelle 16m ago

no one 😂

wear your trends!

-1

u/SmootherWorm 5h ago

There just aren’t very many people in trades and especially farming. Also people in other fields often have more disposable income since trades are actually not great for pay until you’re working 500+ hours of OT, and then you don’t have time for free time. Lots of people in office and service jobs still enjoy activities for which Carhartt makes a lot of since, and there’s 4x as many of them.

3

u/Rickbox 5h ago

Definitely depends on the trade. My old friend did metal work in a steel mill. He made bank.

1

u/SmootherWorm 5h ago

How much did he work and how much of his compensation was pay and not benefits? The problem with a lot of these numbers you see is they’re reporting union workers working 50-60 hrs/wk with a huge healthcare plan are making $100k, but when you dig in, that’s a $30k or more healthcare plan and the hourly pay is $25/hr for their regular hours. At my work our low level salaried employees “make” $100k if they have a family on the health plan from the cost of the plan while being well short of $100k.

2

u/That_OneOstrich 4h ago

I make more than all my friends with degrees but I'm a highly specialized tradesman working on VRF systems or labratories almost exclusively. I'm on call 2 weeks out of the year but otherwise don't hit overtime. I'm like 98k/yr after taxes.

1

u/theumph 2h ago

You deserve it for working on VRF. Lol. It's cool stuff, but servicing it seems like a nightmare.

1

u/Ok_Tradition_3382 3h ago

I strongly disagree with this. Where I live in northern ontario, plumbers, millwright, electricians, carpenters….make absolute bank. For reference a full time max salary RN or police officer would gross 110k before OT. While the plumber would make that in 6 months.

1

u/SmootherWorm 2h ago

IDK about Canada, but in the US a full-time RN is 36 hours (3 shifts) a week and pay is entirely dependent on location and specialty. ICU or anesthesia aren’t near the long-term care nurses on pay. Police are often not paid particularly well until they put in their 1000 hours of readily available overtime in most areas too. Meanwhile the only plumbers making $200k are master plumbers owning their own business with employees; 80% of plumbers are Rotorooter journeymen making $60k before work a ton of OT if it’s available to them.

0

u/theumph 2h ago

That's not true at all. Our local pipe fitters union has a pretty great package. Starting as an apprentice at $25/hr (take home wage. $47/hr total package) with $6-10/hr annual raises, all while having 0 college debt is a pretty sweet deal. Most journeyman take home an easy $120k.

2

u/Mother-Attention2600 4h ago

It's for posers.

2

u/Vivid_Revolution_689 4h ago

when i worked as a controls tech (basically i worked on the HVAC system) at a hospital, the uniform was carhartt FR longsleeves. 90% of my job was on a laptop... the only nice thing about them is they stopped me from cutting my arms up when reaching around above ceilings. there are a lot of things that will cut you up there, and it's a hospital so you should always assume that its infected with herpisyphylaids.

2

u/BeautifulLie5641 3h ago

You’re right.  It’s given to us by our job.   All we do is pick a size.

1

u/herowin54 5h ago

I see a shit ton of Carhartt on every job site I’m on, I really don’t see it out and about too much anymore. I also don’t do much besides work either so who knows

1

u/SmootherWorm 5h ago

That would be the trick. If you work in a trade, you see a lot on people in the trades, but if you work elsewhere you probably don’t see many tradespeople. Carhartt is all over in areas where people go outdoors regularly.

1

u/herowin54 4h ago

Funnily enough I’m finding I don’t care for Carhartt too much. Their long sleeve shirts and beanies are really nice but their sweatshirt’s hoods are too small.

They like aren’t big enough, if I pull the hood down to where my hard hat sits over top of the whole hood then it is straining my neck after a few hours. But it is also uncomfortable if the band of my hard hat is around the tip of the hood if that makes sense?

I find that regular sweatshirts from Meijer with my states college football teams are a lot more comfortable and have bigger hoods

1

u/UncleTio92 5h ago

Maybe now. I remember buying Carhart when it was in tractor supply.

1

u/vanzir 4h ago

I will admit, I do not have a stereotypical blue collar job anymore. I work behind a desk. But I started my career on jobsites. I still only buy carhartt for my winter gear because of it. I don't have to replace it nearly as often. In fact i have been wearing the same carhartt jacket for like 20 years now.

1

u/abracadammmbra 1h ago

Not anymore. Yet another company who decided that catering to fuckin yuppies was better than useful people. I still have my carhartt jacket from 2011 and apart from some oil stains, its still going strong. The newer stuff is noticeably cheaper and doesnt last as long. I dont buy it anymore, not worth the jacked up prices.

1

u/That_OneOstrich 4h ago

Its honestly terrible work wear. I bought carhartt when I first got into the trades and it didn't last more than a month, so I switched to stuff that'll last 6-12 months.

I will say, that above statement doesn't apply to the coats/outerwear.

3

u/BoondockUSA 3h ago

Carhartt used to make very tough clothing. Then they became a fashion company and quality took a huge hit, especially their denim products.

My guess is that you tried Carhartt after the transition.

2

u/That_OneOstrich 3h ago

Definitely. I got into tradeswork within the last 5 years.

I have a carhartt coat that's great. But everything else I've got from them is garbage.

1

u/Cosmic_MicrowaveOven 2h ago

Carhartt still makes pretty good workwear clothing.

Ironically their “work in progress” (or WIP) line is the streetwear line that isn’t as durable and is more expensive.

1

u/The_Lone_Rancher 4h ago

Interesting, what do you buy instead?

1

u/That_OneOstrich 3h ago edited 3h ago

Lately Dickies. But there are some odd random brands I found on sale that haven't been bad either.

My coworker wears wrangler and swears by it, his clothes seem to hold together but I just don't trust jeans to hold up.

1

u/IcyDisplayGuy 4h ago edited 2h ago

Mine lasted me through 7 years. Blown cuffs, oil stains, broken zipper. Bet your ass I got another ol reliable. Upgraded model though with cuff coverage and flexible shoulders and two way zipper. But wouldn't you know it, after one winter season I stopped having a messy blue collar job. Great investment though.

1

u/That_OneOstrich 3h ago

Sounds like outerwear?

1

u/IcyDisplayGuy 2h ago

Yes, a coat is typically outerwear.

1

u/That_OneOstrich 2h ago

Your comment didn't mention a coat, I was just seeing what type of clothing you meant. Based on zipper and blown out cuffs I assumed but didn't want to make an ass out of myself.

5

u/Siid_Chawsby 5h ago

All I know about Carhartt is the people who whine and cry about regular people wearing it like it’s not just a clothing brand.

Imagine giving a shit about this and also trying to sell yourself as a blue collar man

6

u/im-a-guy-like-me 4h ago

Same thing happened in the skating community in the early 2000s. Everyone started wearing them big chunky Vans and DC shoes, and all the "Im too punk to care" skaters had a hissy fit. Funny.

1

u/HappyBigBalledGent 2h ago

Lmao that brought back memories of being in elementary school and begging my mom for a pair of DCs because the “cool kids” had them. Finally got a pair and I got shit on for wearing them but not knowing how to skateboard.

Taking pipe is a full time job for some women

5

u/Head_Situation5456 5h ago

And men.

1

u/CalHudsonsGhost 5h ago

Equality in the “work” space means a man and a woman have to equally play their part. I would expect the same “get to it” attitude from a man that I would expect from a woman that handled pipe. They have to be willing to get dirty, put the proper pressure, never forgetting that the attention to the role of men and women when it comes to a Pipematician is as equal as the balls and the shaft. Just chicks over here though.

Casual misogyny mixed in with their fear of stolen blue collar valor.

Jokes on you, she has a strap on

Shit, what brand of clothes am I supposed to wear? Now I have no idea because people online are assholes.

1

u/nWo_1985 4h ago

You mean sniffany

u/CronoMass 4h ago

What is carhart exactly? Is it a beanie? Because I have been known to wear the odd beanie in cold weather.

1

u/Hydra_Master 2h ago

Carhartt makes a lot of durable workwear, but they also make clothes for casual wear (beanies and hoodies). For some reason people who buy the workwear but their panties in a bunch when people buy their clothes for non-work use. I have a couple of their beanies and hoodies, and they're great for staying warm when the temps dip.

1

u/LucywiththeDiamonds 2h ago

Im from germany. I dont think anyone over here knew that. Was just another clothes brand

1

u/carthuscrass 3h ago

Having done a lot of hard work in my life I avoid Carhartt. It's not any more durable than most regular clothing and it costs considerably more. They are just a fashion brand now.

1

u/Zlurpo 3h ago

Article from 2016 using this image which is, basically, asking why non working people are wearing working-people clothing.

The photo of the Dependa brings this to the next level.

Sorry, are we just calling random girls in hats sluts now?

1

u/torturekiller2025 2h ago

But both are also time honoured trades.

1

u/SPARKYLOBO 2h ago

I work at a mine, loads of people wearing Carhartts. I'm sure a lot of it was from the lost and found from other jobs. Who pays for new work pants that will get destroyed the first day?

1

u/Sufficient_Drop8906 2h ago

Stolen valor!!!

1

u/Illustrious_Soil_603 2h ago

To be fair, she could strap one on and then you’d be the one taking pipe

1

u/dougdougofdoug 2h ago

Hahaha, I get it! Bitches sure do be not-blue-collar enough to wear a beanie. And her not being blue collar means she's such a slut, am I right, fellow blue-collar dudes? What a great joke!

1

u/MurderBeans 2h ago

Attaching great meaning to what clothes someone wears is the reserve of the completely braindead.

1

u/foreverandadayalone 2h ago

Is it funny because of misogyny??? A woman exists so she must be a slut?

1

u/Flintstonekhid 2h ago

Maybe their just buying them because that's what the stores are selling. If it was champion or Adidas or some shit they'd probably be wearing those

1

u/ACK_TRON 1h ago

Haven’t girls always liked to wear their bfs stuff. Like ohh this is so big and comfy or nice and warm. It isn’t fashionable so they would never buy it but try to find your merino wool socks and they will be in her drawer. Same with your favorite hoodie.

1

u/plsdontlookatmethx 1h ago

I'm a woman in the trades but I don't live at the sawmill. This may shock you but you should know that teachers also don't live at school.

When I am off the clock I don't wear the full hi-viz but I'll wear the good winter gear because there's usually some left in the car.

1

u/Shinin_W1zard 1h ago

The fuck you mean lol? No blue collar worker wears Carhartt. You want me to wear a good looking plain shirt to get ruined while I'm trying to unclog the drain?

Also, talking like the men who wear Carhartt aren't bums who haven't worked a day.

1

u/Ok-Fortune-8644 1h ago

Why do dudes wear football jerseys when they arent even football players?

*insert clever pun/joke/comparison

1

u/Son_of_the_Phantom 51m ago

I'm a blue collar worker and I wear Jncos

1

u/Ok_Protection8223 48m ago

Listen, if we are going to let the sparky wear it we can let her.

1

u/Lost-Soft-8913 5h ago

Taking pipe is a blue collar profession. Those girls work hard

It's time to stop measuring the value of people based on how much sex you think they're getting. It's weird.

No upper lip detected

1

u/veryshittycarpenter 5h ago

That’s for white collar workers, us blue collar workers still use dip and chew and loose snus

0

u/AllPerspicacity 1h ago

Is the joke that women don't work blue collar jobs...because the mill near me is 60% female employee in ratio, so....that would be false...

1

u/nhlgoalie2002 1h ago

No, it isn’t

0

u/Shinin_W1zard 1h ago

Yeah, they could have easily joked about people who wear Carhartt are mainly bums who have never done blue collar work, instead of just targetting the women who wear it. No blue collar worker I know wears Carhartt. You don't ruin a mid priced shirt by wearing it to work.
