AI Job Search Update

We've heard from a lot of members that some of the missing filters make it harder to search the way they're used to. We're working on bringing back several of the most-requested filters, and we're also temporarily restoring the option to switch back to the previous search experience while we continue improving the new one.

Our goal with AI-powered job search is to give you flexibility to describe what you're looking for in your own words, including details you might normally use a filter for and things that don't fit neatly into a filter. That said, we know filters are still a key part of the experience for many people, so we’ve kept some of the most-used filters available and introduced suggested filters below the search bar. These suggestions adapt to what you search for, helping you narrow your results quickly.

Thanks for continuing to share your candid feedback. We're listening, and we'll keep making improvements based on what we hear.

probably spam Are these requests real?

I recently decided to get rid of my “Open to Work” banner because I didn’t feel it was helping haha. Anyway, since then I’ve received 15 connection requests from people whose profiles I think (??) are real but i’m really not sure because they never check my profile first they just add me and we have mutual connections ranging from 3-10. They are indeed in my field as well but I look at their posts and they’re just mostly ai shlop being liked and directly posted. I’ve been on the job market for over a year now so i’d like to be exited but I don’t want my feed to be flooded with stuff that won’t help me.

Thanks :)

advanced question Posting a YouTube video on LinkedIn and sponsored requirements?

• Upvotes

On my LinkedIn profile, I clicked "Create a Post" then pasted in a link to a YouTube video. Then when I hover over the post I see:

  • This post type can't be boosted
  • Your content is not consistent with LinkedIn's sponsored content requirements.

A search about this said, "Sponsored Content is a collection of ad formats available when you create an ad set on LinkedIn."

  1. I am not placing an ad, so why does LinkedIn think I'm doing that? What is this all about?

  2. Regarding the messages I saw in the two points above, what do they mean?

So how to personalize my feed and with what?

I only see people complaining about not getting a job and shitty job offers and AI copypaste I supposed to use this as Facebook but usually I find memes there so, yeah.

What content should I look for or post that can help me to build a net and get a job? I am jobless right now

AI search is back ?

The classic search is now hidden again (at least on my profile ?).

I can't access it on https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/search/ ...

Like before: can't filter on remote only jobs, seeing endless results even when filtering on last 24hours, seeing results not respecting the filters, ...

Impossible to follow new offers and not to miss them ...

Why doing that ? Why forcing a change like this that is a downgrade ?

Is there a way to find again the classic search ?

So nice, AI is destroying jobs and also making sure that we don't find new ones (even if there is no AI in this search, just a bad engine ...)

Anyone else having issues with LinkedIn showing unread notifications that don't exist?

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone else has been experiencing a strange issue with LinkedIn notifications recently?

For nearly a week now, LinkedIn has been showing that I've got unread notifications, even though there's absolutely nothing new to view. It started off showing 2 unread notifications, then increased to 3, and now it's showing 4. Whenever I click the notification bell, the badge disappears for a few minutes, but then randomly comes back again.

I've tried pretty much everything I can think of:

  • Marking all notifications as read
  • Turning notification settings off
  • Checking messages, message requests, archived messages and spam
  • Checking and clearing alerts in Sales Navigator
  • Logging out and back in
  • Clearing browser cache and cookies
  • Trying Chrome, Safari and Edge, including incognito mode
  • Testing on different laptops and my iPhone
  • Deleting and reinstalling the LinkedIn app

Nothing seems to work!

Is anyone else experiencing this at the moment? And if you've had this problem before, did you ever manage to get it fixed? It is driving me insane!

privacy and security LinkedIn shares "Open To Work" with recruiters even if you set your privacy to not share, visible "Only to You"

This is a pet peeve of mine. The other pet peeve is how recruiters get your phone number, personal and work, and start harassing you with calls. I have no intention to leave my current job. But the fact that LinkedIn sent a notification last night that I was "open to work" to recruiters when I never was and never set that status pisses me off. I specifically said I wasn't open to work, screenshots here. Just wanted to see what remote jobs are available around me.

Does anyone have a fix for this? I also don't want my company to think I'm trying to leave. I went ahead and deleted the job alert because this is just irritating.

Do you actively work on your personal brand on LinkedIn? What has been the biggest benefit for you?

I’ve been working with professionals on their LinkedIn presence, and the same benefits keep coming up: trust, better opportunities, visibility, and industry influence.

But I’m curious about your side of it:

  • Do you post regularly on LinkedIn?
  • Has your profile ever brought you a client, job, or collaboration?
  • What’s the biggest thing holding you back from building your brand?

I’d love to hear your experience, and I’m happy to give feedback on your headline or About section in the comments.

Changed industries, but my LinkedIn engagement still comes from my old network. How do I shift it?

Hi everyone,

I switched industries three years ago. I have 7,000+ people in my LinkedIn network, including more than 2,000 relevant connections in my current industry.

But whenever I post, most of the engagement still comes from my old network—even when the content is specific to my current work and has little relevance to my previous industry.

I can’t tell whether my newer connections aren’t seeing my posts or are seeing them but not engaging.

Has anyone successfully shifted their LinkedIn audience after changing industries? What actually helped you reach and start conversations with the right people?

Stuck with an internal database glitch (urn:li:member) when trying to verify email. Support hasn't responded in 3 days. Any workarounds?

Hi everyone,

I am currently logged into my LinkedIn account using my mobile phone number, and everything works fine there. However, I am trying to sign up for LinkedIn Premium and get my Identity Verification Badge, which requires me to verify an email address.

When I go to the email verification screen, the input field is completely glitched. It won't let me type a normal email address. Instead, it is locked onto a strange internal system string code mask that looks like this: urn:li:member:1078700507.

If I try to enter my phone number as an alternative, the page throws a red error banner saying: "This phone number can't be used for password recovery. Please use an email address connected to your account instead."

I submitted a detailed web ticket to LinkedIn Help three days ago but haven't received a case number or a human response yet. Has anyone else dealt with this specific urn:li:member database glitch? Is there any way to force the system to clear this mask so I can type a real email address, or do I just have to wait for an engineer to manually fix it on the backend?

Thanks for any advice!

I understand the hate, but LinkedIn is still the most relevant social media platform for me

I get the anti-linkedin feelings, believe me. The AI spam, the fake jobs, the Premium lies, all of it. Still, I dont find myself posting anywhere else. Posting my videos on youtube or art on artstation? It gets buried. Ok, I still use those as my portfolios, but then I post the links with related messages.

Getting emails going to my personal email address not the email i signed up with/on the account

Hello,

I recently started getting linkedin emails going to my personal email instead of my professional email address. My personal email address is not listed anywhere on the account, just my professional email address.

When i click on the links on the emails, it takes me to the account tied to my professional address.

About a decade ago i had a linkedin account tied to my personal email address but i had stopped using it many years ago and closed it.

Wtf is happening?

advanced question Can't add Page Managers to a Company Page because they are Not Verified.

Yes I know the easy answer will be, "Yeah please just ask your manager to verify."

Here's the thing: I've been on LinkedIn for quite some time and I have lots of connections and followers today, but I live in El Salvador, and there's no way to verify today: "Verifications aren’t available for you yet"

I don't really care about verification. In fact, I'm actually quite scared of it because of all the data leaks that have happened so far. But not being able to add a content manager to one of my company pages is quite disappointing to me. I don't know what to do.

Putting tickets on LinkedIn is just like sending a letter into oblivion, and I want to know if any of you has ever solved a similar problem.

This is exactly what I tried to do:

  1. I go to my LinkedIn company page.
  2. I press on Settings.
  3. I go to Manage admins.
  4. I press on Add an admin.
  5. I search the name of the person that I want to have.
  6. I click on Content admin.
  7. I press Save.

And this is what I get: "This member could not be added as a page admin. Ask the member to verify their account if they have not already, and then try again."

My employee lives in El Salvador too, great...

I wish the people who work on the platform would take their time to review the processes they develop and implement, but it's 2026, and things are breaking down left and right.

Cheers everyone! Have a blessed day!

Navigating the "new" LinkedIn search is frustrating

Any help? Let's say I'm searching for jobs with the title "economist", WORDLWIDE (I don't want to limit my search to the US, Canada etc.; I want EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY to populate) and then afterwards, I want to select the "Remote" filter at the top.

I much preferred the older search. I'm not a techy person so I'm not sure if there's a way to manipulate the long webpage address to do what I actually want it to do. The new search is also forcing me to select a location and guess what, I can only select ONE location at a time.
Has anyone found a workaround?

Fight the linkedin spam

from:linkedin -subject:("invitations" OR "viewed your profile" OR "searches" OR "checked Zip" OR "post and your next steps" OR "popular in your network" OR "you may know")

if you are using Gmail, use this search string and click create filter which makes it easy.

Job Search Not Working Properly

Hi, anyone is having issues with the job search? When I'm using filters like "Posted in the past week" the platform filters out most of the jobs (despite I'm using generic job titles, like Analyst).

Its seems that, while I was used to see 99+ job postings now I'm down to 3/4.

I've been experiencing this since Sunday.

Curated list of updates

I manage a Technology partner ecosystem and would like to compile posts from a set of companies. Let’s say I have 100 companies and want to follow their company and top executive pages, to almost create a recurring newsletter of sorts for my team to read. My obvious go-to would be using an agent to scrape the pages but LinkedIn blocked this. Does anyone have an idea of how I can generally accomplish this without manually viewing every page?

We need a "recommend / not recommend" function for job ads.

Yes you heard me right! How many times you have seen a job ad that is like "Looking for a junior with 10 years experience" or "High skill and responsibility / low pay".

We need a function that makes the algorithm push down bad job ads, and bring out the good ones.

And the advertisers need to get feedback so they can correct their parameters.

Something like Google reviews where you leave an anonymous rating and feedback.

advanced question How can I identify and remove inactive connections in bulk?

I have around 30,000 LinkedIn connections and want to clean up my network by removing inactive accounts. Manually checking each profile would take forever.

Is there any reliable way or tool to identify people who haven't used LinkedIn in years and remove them in bulk? tia.
