My sweet boy Lancey Pants has been with us since early August after I fell in love with him while volunteering. He's seriously so wonderful, gentle, silly, and sweet. I can't believe he's real sometimes. 😂

Kiki (left) had found her soul mate at the dog park so now the humans have a group chat to set up dates.
Look at them!

Needed some mom cuddles and scratches to relax through the loud thunder and hail <3

Picture for the puppy tax.
When did you all see your Huskus relax from their velociraptor state? Asking for a friend.
Frances. I've never kept anything alive for this long. It is, I believe, one of the fewest opportunities for one of the greatest gifts in life to witness another living being grow.
Black dog: her sister Edith.

It’s 3am and I cant sleep, I can’t stop sobbing, I miss my baby so much. Every other time she’s gotten out, she’s come back before it’s gotten dark out. I’m worried sick about her. I live in a wooded area with a lot of potential predators. Do y’all think she’s gonna be okay?
edit: Still awaiting her return. Thank you guys for all the comments, they’re much appreciated right now ❤️ I’m too overwhelmed to go through and reply to them all right now, but I’m reading every one. When I get her back, I’ll definitely post an update thread.

5 years ago, I met this handsome boy at the animal shelter, next thing I know I'm signing paperwork. Happy Gotcha Day, Aesop!

My 7 year old husky just went through a bout of pancreatitis after weeks of refusing her regular food and pretty much only eating treats, and also she probably ate something off the ground outside that made her sick. She’s allergic to beef, pork, rice and wheat.
We fed her chicken and potatoes, boiled, plain, for about 10 days as recommended by our vet, and now she hasn’t eaten for 2 days because she’s refusing her regular food
She has been getting Fromm chicken fromage formula for the last 4 years since we’ve had her and she has always been kind of stubborn about eating but now that she developed a taste for chicken and potatoes she doesn’t want her food AT ALL and she has been just very dramatically sulking lol
What do y’all feed your huskies?
Do I need to cook for her for the rest of her life???

But it makes my back hurt just looking at her.

Week 6. I think she knows she’s home now. At least I hope so! Waiting on our embark kit - has anyone had luck finding the breeder or littermates through those tests? It’s not a huge deal but we’d just love to know more about her. Based on a few circumstances we think her owner may have been an ICE abduction - and if so I’d love to be able to let them know she’s safe and loved.

I've never been so wrecked by the loss of an animal. Bruno was our spirit animal. He went everywhere with us. I like to say that he rescued us during Covid. Adopted him at 4 years old and literally 3 days later, Ohio locked down for 6 weeks.
Talk about bonding. Never once whined about his former owner.
He peed only once in the house... On our live Xmas tree. 🤣
He would army crawl across each family member demanding pets from each one, but you could only have 10 minutes. Then he'd have to move to the next person.
We drove on vacations instead of flying, and rented a mini van so he would be comfortable.
He was truly one of a kind and may have wrecked me from ever getting another animal.
Not exactly sure what took him, Vet thinks he may have had a brain tumor.
Still makes me cry 4 months later. Never been this affected.
Finally can share my loss here. I've wanted to many times.
RIP Bruno.

My husband and I go out of town two or three times every year, and my huskies typically stay with my parents. They do great and I genuinely think they get a little bummed when they have to come home LOL. In January, my parents are coming with us on a bucket-list trip, and there just isn't anyone else I trust to take care of these two escape artists.
We booked boarding this morning and the bill was a bit painful: $1,600 for a week. I'm happy to pay it because I know they will be safe and comfy, and they have live camera access 24/7 which will allow me to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime trip with peace of mind.
The last time we boarded them was at this facility in 2020 and it was not anywhere close to this in price. I'm just curious what boarding for huskies is looking like around the country!
