A work of art. Kids run around without looking until they run into something. Then we start looking. That’s the prefrontal cortex for you. Doesn’t fully kick in until 25-ish. Look where you’re going guys, or you’ll get a face full of ass.

my kid used to just turn and run full speed in any direction without any regard for her surroundings, and I would always get on her about it, until one day she ran head-on into a stranger's stomach. last time she ever did that 😂

The main reason is that darker skin accentuates the muscles better. As a side bonus if you have some acne or other blemishes on your skin, those get masked away.

I can't share the image, but look up Google searches by country metrics of skin bleaching vs tanning.
You'll see which countries prefer which! Basically it's only East And South Asia that prefers skin lightening where the rest of the world prefers tanning
