I think one of the greatest sounds I’ve heard in any music is that ethereal guitar sound this band has always used. I really want to replicate the sound for my own music, more specifically the sound usually heard when it seems like the guitar is just playing octaves or rhythm sections on songs like Aegis or even the recordings of songs like Tales of Innocence or Lacrima Christi from the Rarities album where each note feels like one long drawn out note instead of repetitious picking. From what I have heard so far, I believe I’ll need distortion/overdrive, a good chorus pedal, and possibly a few delay pedals on top of my reverb i already have. If anybody has any advice or has been able to replicate this sound, please let me know.

Hi there, it's bothering me for a while, but when I am listening to Paranoia, Paranoia, by Bauhaus, I can hear some Polish words ;o; I don't know how is it possible, maybe I AM PARANOIC, but from 4:16 I can hear 'słuchajcie', and 'nie' in 4:19, 'myśli' 4:26, and 'diament' 4:29.

Can someone explain that to me?

I found this at Indy CD and Vinyl in the Broad Ripple area of Indianapolis. I love finding oddities like this. Though, yes, I did see that two artists from not the Midwest are on this compilation, I don't know what that's about, maybe they're originally from here. In any case, I think it's cool to have this! I would say the Hemlock For Socrates song was my favorite on here!

26F Moving across the country to be with my partner. I am a very active member of the diy punk and post punk goth community where i live currently. I have friends at Middle East so i know all about their goth night but im looking for diy goth stuff and also just testing the waters seeing if anyone here makes music out in boston. I am a singer with a bit of bass and keys experience and currently am in a post punk band where i live now and have made more ethereal goth stuff but also power pop/ garage rock. Put me on to local diy goth and punk!! Let me know places to go out! Idk any sort of community advice id enjoy.

I have more recently learned the term polyester goth and I do think anyone clearly trying to lure minors to purchase adult content is messed up, but it leads to a thing where I've seen people calling others aren't goth and I just sit and think "yeah probably, but maybe not?" Like being goth is something you kinda take on as a mantle so I'm curious what you all especially if you're an old head think about the gatekeeping that may happen, also I do understand there used to be the fact the you would just call ppl posers and that seems dead

I've not been able to find an a good source for a FotN shirt that's affordable or isn't DTG printed -- ideally would've liked to obtain an official design (whether of the classic logo or stylised Dawnrazor), but unfortunately these are sourced in the UK and would double or more the cost of the tees themselves to get them shipped to the US. I haven't found any American retailers for their merch otherwise.

The majority of tees that are all 3rd-party/fan-made seem to be DTG printed (which tends to have poorer quality -- they last like a couple of years until they start to deteriorate). Silk screen-printed, conversely, would be the best print quality option, yet hard to find especially for custom requests or a single order for such, and even then basically becomes the same cost as buying from the official UK retailers. NuclearWasteUnderground is a close one, though their overlapped design looks off more than other minor discrepancies, and sadly they don't offer any additional FotN designs.
Also, searching several secondhand sites rarely provides official or vintage FotN t-shirts.

The last option I could think of would be DIY painting, but it's overwhelming the work those designs would involve and whether or not they'd feel like or last as long as a screen-printed version.

So at this point, it's kind of frustrating the limitations there are and not sure where to go from here to be able to get a FotN shirt that won't be quality-problematic nor too pricey. Does anyone possibly have ideas or might know of a good source that tackles the above issues?

Has anyone been to the goth event at tv eye a carnival of souls before on Halloween? Never been so curious if there’s a lot of ppl/it’s a good time. I was hoping to bring a few friends that aren’t familiar with the goth scene but still wanted to come so I’m hoping they could still have a good time regardless.

They are very underrated in my opinion.

Hi, I have been into post-punk since high school and by relation I have always liked goth music but I have been too shy to actually join the scene. Now I am gravitating towards the style I've been experimenting with makeup and clothes and I want to explore the music beyond the most popular bands which I know and already enjoy.

I'll write some of my favourites to give an idea of some of what I'm into: My favourite band in the whole world is Joy Division. I like The Fall, New Order and Swans. I LOVE The Cure Pornography is my favourite album. I'd say I tend to like more bass-oriented music. I would appreciate any recommendations from those more familiar with the goth scene :DD thank you!!
