FIXED! Samsung Q60BA 50" Endless Reboot Loop - A Piece of Tape Saved My TV! 😁
Guys, I actually fixed mine! Samsung Q60BA 50".
My TV would turn on, work perfectly for about 5 seconds, then shut off and enter an endless reboot loop.
I searched everywhere for a solution, and most people basically said the TV was done and I should throw it away.
Well, that wasn't going to stop me. 😂
After digging around, I came across this old YouTube video of an Indian guy fixing a similar problem using nothing but a piece of tape:

And guess what? IT WORKED! After three attempts, my TV was back to normal!
Here's exactly what worked for me:
The trick involves covering certain contacts on one of the ribbon cables with a tiny piece of tape.
Counting the contacts from the RIGHT side:
- First attempt: I covered the contacts starting with the first 4. The TV stopped rebooting, but I had no picture.
- Second attempt: I uncovered the first 3 contacts. The picture came back, but it was extremely bright and overexposed.
- Third attempt: I uncovered the 4th contact as well. BOOM! Perfect picture, no rebooting!
My working configuration: Leave the first 4 contacts exposed, then cover contacts 5 through approximately 15/16, counting from the right.
This is what worked on MY TV, so your results might vary.
Some tips if you're going to try it:
- Good lighting is essential. These contacts are tiny, and you need to be precise.
- Use small precision tools. I actually used dental tools I bought on Amazon. 😂 They worked amazingly well!
- Be gentle with the plastic clips and covers. I used automotive plastic trim removal tools, and they were perfect for opening everything without damaging the plastic.
- Take your time. Once you understand what you're doing, the process can take around 20-30 minutes.
- Unplug the TV before opening it or touching the ribbon cables. Avoid the power supply components, which can retain dangerous voltage even when unplugged.
I'll attach photos showing exactly which contacts I covered so you can compare them with yours.
My thoughts
I wonder if Samsung's power delivery design contributes to these failures after just 3-5 years. Can't prove it, but I'm hoping this little hack gives my TV another 3-5 years! 😁
If you're dealing with the same reboot loop, I hope this helps! Good luck, guys! 🍻
