Player Discussion Jakob Poeltl
Am I crazy to be high on Jakob Poeltl this year? I think he'll return mid round value.
I understand the hype behind CMB, who has a lot of potential but nevertheless he will be playing back up to Scottie/kawhi and Poeltl.
Last year CMB per 36:
14/8.2/3.1/1.5/1.5 58%FG 65%FT
Jakob's last healthy season (24-25) per 36:
17.6/11.7/3.4/1.4/1.5 62%FG 67%FT
He was ranked 43 in per game avg on BBM.
I've seen Jakob go in the last round in 12T leagues and even undrafted in 10T.
Jakob is their only true center. At worst, he will split his minutes evenly with CMB, though I think that is very unlikely because he's an undersized big. Yes CMB closed games last year, but Jakob was injured and never got into a rhythm.
I've seen people say he's going to be benched against mobile centers, but what teams are truly going small ball for more than half the game? I can only think of OKC, Dallas, GSW, Chicago, Milwaukee?, NOP? LAC?. Even half of these teams are bad and Poeltl will still get solid game time.
I'm not knocking CMB's potential, especially for stocks, but Poeltl should be going around the same ADP. If he's in your waiver wire, pick him up asap.

Player Discussion Tristan da Silva
The game is currently playing, now that we're at the half, what do you think? I'll update this at the end of the game too
Stats at Halftime:
| Minutes | Pts | FG | 3PT | FT | Reb | Ast | Stl | Blk | TO |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 18:37 | 12 | 4-7 | 4-7 | 0-0 | 1 | 3 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
Is he worth a pickup? Is he only performing like this because or absences of Anthony Black and Jonathan Isaac?
We want to be the one to pick up this year's 2024 Dyson Daniels and 2023 Jalen Johnson.

FAQ
- How are players ranked?
Each player's line is compared to 2025-26 per-game averages for their primary position (G, F or C, using players who averaged 20+ minutes). Each of the 9 categories becomes a z-score (FG% and FT% are weighted by attempts, turnovers count against). Z-scores are capped at ±5 and summed into the Night Score.
- Why is [insert player] not ranked here? They had a great game!
It doesn't mean that this player didn't perform well, it just means that some players had a more balanced performance than them across the 9 categories.

Discussion Yahoo app has gone off the deep end
I absolutely cannot fathom these design decisions. I'm playing fantasy basketball here. LET ME SEE STATS. On mobile why can I only see 4 fucking columns at a time. Player names take half the damn screen width and don't even include their picture. The spacing is so excessive and ugly it makes me want to puke. Yahoo this is self destructive behavior. You had 1 job, to let me see stats, and you're failing harder every year. I wish I could pay negative dollars for this freemium butt grease. You should be ashamed of yourselves
Update: I've left my first Play Store review

Player Discussion Cason Wallace… just a streamer??
What are we thinking on Cason after last night?
Cason got his bag, Dort got traded away, and he was officially named a starter on the Thunder squad.
However, watching the game last night, it seemed as if the Thunder were using Cason’s and Ihart’s spot as rotational minutes for a bunch of the bench guys. And there was A LOT of bench being run.
Caruso, Mccain, and Ajay all had more minutes than Wallace despite the starting role. Jaylin Williams had close to the amount of minutes Cason had. Even Aday racked up 11 minutes.
I know that many people along with myself had Cason Wallace as a sleeper and a chance to make a leap this season.
And I know that it’s only the first game and we shouldn’t panic. But what do yall think? Will this pattern continue? Is it a game by game basis? Or will Cason really get his time to shine?

Discussion New IL system on Yahoo
The new IL system on Yahoo has created some issues when it comes to roster management.
Previously, the INJ tag was only removed once a player's availability for a game had been officially confirmed. Now, however, a player's status can change from Out to Doubtful while they're still injured.
As a result, I'm unable to make any roster moves, even though the player is still highly unlikely to play.
I'm sure I'm not the only one dealing with this issue. I think Yahoo should either apply the same rules to players tagged as Out that previously applied to players tagged as INJ, or simply bring back the INJ tag.
After all, teams can keep players listed as Doubtful for weeks, leaving fantasy managers completely unable to make any roster moves during that time.

Player Discussion Brayden Burries
I'm really high on this guy, for this season and the coming seasons. Surprised he hasn't been talked about as much around here. He's looked great in preseason and could be the breakout rookie this year immediately. He shows the ability to get assists, free throws, points and steals, he can score at the rim, handle the ball, create his own shot, etc. Burries was clearly the reason the Bucks cut KPJ, this kid needs minutes and should easily be logging at least 25 min/g. He just looks NBA ready now, can play both sides of the ball. I think Milwaukee also will play a lot of 3-guard backcourts so Herro/Rollins shouldn't be obstacles for Burries to get on the floor but rather will be a complementary trio (I'd also say it means Jaquez will play at the 4 for stretches too if he's on the court with them).
Also, Burries was voted #1 (with a 30% share of the vote) in the annual GM survey to be the "sleeper" / biggest steal of the draft. I dug into the history of this category from GM's and it's been fairly accurate as a predictor of career success. The players below all were in the top 3-5 most thought of sleepers of their draft in past years and a good amount did have fantasy productive seasons either their rookie years or 2nd years.
2026-27 Brayden Burries (30%)
2025-26 Kasparas Jakucionis (17%) Ace Bailey (10%) Joan Beringer (7%)
2024-25 Matas Buzelis (7%) Donovan Clingan (7%)
2023-24 Keyonte George (10%) Jaime Jaquez (10%) Brandin Podziemski (7%)
2022-23 Jalen Duren (14%) Tari Eason (14%) Shaedon Sharpe (10%) Jalen Williams (7%)
2021-22 Jalen Suggs (23%) Alperen Sengun (20%) Jalen Johnson (7%) Trey Murphy (7%)
2020-21 Tyrese Haliburton (43%) Saddiq Bey (11%) Tyrese Maxey (7%)
2019-20 NAW (33%) Brandon Clarke (19%) Tyler Herro (7%)
2018-19 SGA (27%) Wendell Carter (10%) Michael Porter Jr. (10%)
2017-18 Dennis Smith Jr. (37%) Kyle Kuzma (22%) Donovan Mitchell (7%)
2016-17 Dejounte Murray (23%) Kris Dunn (17%)
2015-16 Justise Winslow (31%) Bobby Portis (24%) Myles Turner (7%)
2014-15 Rodney Hood (17.9%) Doug McDermott (14%) Kyle Anderson (10%) Zach LaVine (10%)
2013-14 Kelly Olynyk (27%) Nerlens Noel (14%) Steven Adams (7%) Giannis (7%)
2012-13 Jared Sullinger (17%) Jae Crowder (10%) Damian Lillard (10%)
2011-12 Iman Shumpert (12% Kemba Walker (8%)
2010-11 Derrick Favors (7.5%) Paul George (7.5%) Greg Monroe (7.5%)
2009-10 James Harden (11%) Brandon Jennings (11%) Ty Lawson (11%)
2008-09 Robin Lopez (12%) Mario Chalmers (8%)
2007-08 Rodney Stuckey (29%) Luis Scola (7.5%)
2006-07 Rajon Rondo (25%)
2005-06 Nate Robinson (23%) Danny Granger (12.5%)
2004-05 Josh Smith (16%) Al Jefferson (10.5%) Shaun Livingston (10.5%) JR Smith (10.5%)
2003-04 Boris Diaw (16%) Josh Howard (10.5%)
Burries is only the 5th player to eclipse that 30% level too amongst NBA GMs. Of those 4 ahead of him in total share of votes for sleeper of the draft, only Haliburton and Dennis Smith Jr. had Top 100 fantasy rookie seasons, so if this survey has at times been a decent predictor of NBA success (although, not immediate for all players below) the fact that consensus opinion is quite high on Burries, and that Burries has produced in preseason, and that Burries imho is why the Bucks decided to just cut ties with KPJ rather than hold out for a trade, seems to suggest this kid has at least better odds than fantasy consensus seems to be on having a fairly productive season.

Player Discussion Joan Beringer
No one has made a designated thread on Joan, and that’s probably because he isn’t too well known but does anyone have any strong opinions on him? Or any opinion for that matter? Bleav in fantasy (one of my go to guys) had him ranked 88th in his final points rankings. I play a points league, and just added him off the free agency in a 20 team league. There’s speculation he could take goberts spot or even start at the 4. Is this a league winner?
