Venting I absolutely HATE the narrative that a woman committing a crime ‘sets women back hundreds of years’
Because there is absolutely NOTHING that men could do that would make society go ‘this is setting men back’, ‘men should lose the right to vote’, etc. Committing 99% of rapes? Not all men. Being over 95% of family annihilators? They’re individuals, you can’t judge all men for the actions of a few.
Society would never even dream of taking men’s rights away, because men’s rights aren’t negotiable. Doesn’t matter if 99% of men woke up tomorrow and decided to commit mass murder, they’re still deserving of rights.
Imagine if women were the ones who committed 98% of mass shootings, for example. It wouldn’t even be a question to these misogynists that all women should lose access to firearms and be stripped of their rights immediately. But as always, because mass shooters are pretty much always male, they’re treated as individuals, not as a representative of their entire gender.
This goes for literally every crime in existence. A man commits a horrific act? Not all men. A woman commits a horrific act? ALL women are evil and can’t be trusted. We’re seeing this being played out with Lindsay Clancy. Apparently women are no longer safe to be around children. Let’s just ignore the fact that men make up 80% of child killers. They don’t even try to hide their hypocrisy anymore, it’s exhausting.

It's not about Lindsay Clancy. We know that, and so do they.
It's about coming up with another bullshit excuse to take away even more rights because they're aggrieved that women aren't financially tied to them any more. Financial dependece meant women had to put up with a whole lot more shit than they do now because you know, food, shelter, shit like that.
But you're right - the hypocrisy and committed refusal to see the horrific shit that men perpetrate on women, children, and other men EVERY FUCKING DAY is peak cognitive dissonance.

u/Clean_Insect5042 ୨ৎ Sanrio Sinner ୨ৎ 10h ago
What rights does the Clancy case even bring into question?
Women’s default stance as the primary parent even when having a psychotic break?
What legal rights do they want—legal responsibility for the children they already emotionally neglect while we beg them to “help” with parenting?
They just love to hate on women and punch down whenever possible.

u/Three3Jane evil and mean to men for no reason 10h ago
It's fucking crazy, I get it.
Clancy is being bandied as a real-world "example" of how women's hormones make them so crazy they kill their own kids, so how can they possibly be trusted with positions of authority or power?
But men don't wanna talk about how many men perpetrated family annihilations during Clancy's trial shh shh we don't talk about that. Nor do they want to acknowledge how many family annihilation events happened since the end of her trial shh shhh. I mean gosh family annihilations are just a one-off thing that doesn't happen often even though per Google, in the United States, family annihilation events in 2026 have happened roughly every 5-7 days where a man specifically kills a wife/partner and other family members shh shhh women are craaaaaaaay.
Hell, I've even seen Clancy's case used as a reason to repeal the 19th, because women's hormones make them too unstable to vote and we should leave all that to the eminently stable, non-hormone-driven men to manage things because they've done such a fucking CRACKING job of [waves hands at everything] so far.
(to be clear in case my tone sounds combative, I am totally agreeing with you)
31
u/BoredCheese 9h ago
In the amount of time it took to hold Clancy’s trial, eight (EIGHT!) men in the United States alone annihilated their entire families. This tells you everything you need to know.

Women can and do suffer from PPP and PPD. She admitted it and was actively seeking help and care that she did not receive.
If anything, this case should bring to light how many mothers struggle with PPD and PPP (and postpartum anxiety, which is what I had to deal with. Nightly severe and multiple panic attacks for -years-, several of which landed me in the ER. I was told to "just take some time off" LOL and nothing else... no help otherwise) and how our society continues to ignore and abuse women.
I've no idea about her husband. I wouldn't doubt if some of his actions (or lack of actions) helped push her into her psychosis though. I very much doubt if a woman has the right help and support at home she's going to go into full PPP.

This! I don’t think she did it. I think she was interrogated/harassed by piggers for hours and admitted something under duress; Her words were twisted and used against her.
She has a male lawyer who’s clearly riding the wave of popularity more so than looking out for his high-profile client’s best interest. She should’ve replaced him a while ago.

Exactly this. When a man commits a crime, he is judged as an individual. When a woman does, her actions are weaponized to condemn an entire gender.
We are so desensitized to male violence that it barely disrupts the news cycle. Yet a single crime by a woman becomes a national media spectacle, used to debate our basic rights.
The hypocrisy is staggering. People will unironically suggest stripping women of autonomy over a single headline, while ignoring that men statistically commit the vast majority of violent crimes. Men get individual accountability; women are forced to carry collective blame.
37
u/Clean_Insect5042 ୨ৎ Sanrio Sinner ୨ৎ 10h ago
And they use other men’s violence to their advantage.
“Sure I never even take out the trash, but at least I didn’t commit a murder suicide, amirite? So can I get some celebratory head tonight, baby?”
17
u/PoggleRebecca 9h ago
It's the same with minority groups too. I think it's a way to distract from the actions of these men.
Like if a white cishet guy robs a house, then only he will get the blame. If an immigrant robs a house, then there's a riot demanding to "deport immigrants" which gets way more attention than the guy robbing the house - and that same guy will be at that riot.
It's no accident the biggest correlation between people who go to "protect the women from immigrants" riots outside of gender and ethnicity, is whether they're a convinced domestic abuser.

16
u/Clean_Insect5042 ୨ৎ Sanrio Sinner ୨ৎ 10h ago
It’s ok, they’ll just raise the cost of college while continuing to hire uneducated men at the same or better rates as educated women, now burdened with university debt. We already see it now as women make up the majority of college graduates yet continue to earn less overall.
32
u/Rinerino 11h ago
Womens rights and emancipation are more on a retreat now than before because the concessions seen as rights are only tolerated by the ruling class (which is primarily male) as long as it has enough capital to finance it. If women "have" to be primarily mothers and caretakerd (for barely to no pay) then that is going to happen in their minds.
The cutting of social Services and child care, as well as overall weakening of material independence from men is their strategy.
Men who think women committing crimes means something here are delusional. And they are trying to justify what cannot be justified.

The Clancy case was a horrible, preventable tragedy that should be taken the same as any other brutal case like it.
But no, instead men are storming social media and saying all women are horrible monsters and that we all condone that type of behavior. Ignoring the fact that, like you pointed out, family annihilations are mostly carried out by men. Yet not a single person is out here crying on Twitter that men should be enslaved for it.
It's like this every time a woman is accused of anything, even if she didn't do it or the full story wasn't told. Remember Amber Heard and what the press did to her? Remember how loud people were during the trial vs how quiet people were when court documents leaked exposing the horrible shit depp did that made her act that way? Because I'll never forget.
They say "accountability should be equal to everyone" but we know damn well that isn't the case. Their "accountability" only extends to saying "women can be abusers/killers/rapists too!!!" as they hate on one female offender out of 50 male offenders.

u/Scary-Ad2312 9h ago edited 7h ago
Exactly, plus women are always held accountable, by other WOMEN too. Which is right, but they also face harsher punishments, which are worse if in a minority etc.
Men face absolutely zero punishment or accountability for their violence and crimes.

Sometimes I like watching men get ate up in the instagram comments but this weird social media war normalized men being mean to women when men shouldn't have luxuries like internet access anyway. Why aren't they at work? Every man should have his bank account and assets seized and immediately wired to any of his rape victims and then after that the women in his family. This should happen every payday. Change my mind.

It’s another double standard. A man committing another crime is just another Tuesday and “boys will be boys” - all the horrific shit men have done is enough to set them back to before the planets even formed but “not all men.” Then it’s a woman and “omg look women can be evil too so definitely NOT ALL MEN.”

When I was a kid... maybe you remember this.
When my brother used to get in trouble... he would always say... "But he did it too!" , ( my cousin or a friend).
And my mom would always reply "If Johhny jumped off a bridge would you do it too?"
They think if someone else did it... like a child... it is a way to deflect the anger coming at them. Like.. "get mad at him, not me", or "yell at him not me".
It the exact same thing.
Like they think it gets them out of trouble... like kids.
Takes the heat off them or something.
And I see it ALL the time in women's subs. Talk about rape? Hwre come all the males... "women rape too!!!" .
Like yeah Kyle women are running around in with strap ons overpowering men and raping them. /s

This is a common tactic from oppressors, not just towards women but towards all oppressed group. You never see people blaming every single Christian or white person for the horrors committed against the indigenous peoples or for the crimes committed by the kkk, but as soon as a person of colour or a muslim commits a crime, suddenly its every person of colour and every muslim.
It's a tactic to keep us down and to reinforce the superiority white men feel towards others.

Where in your post do you address shifting responsibility away from a murderer?
The core of this conversation is not around the crime. It’s the refusal to accept it happened.
A woman killed her kids.
And there seems to be three buckets.
- She did it. And needs to face consequences whether that is jail or institution.
- She did it. But it’s her husbands fault for being a neglectful piece of trash.
- She didn’t do it. Even though 12/12 jurors concluded she did it. Patrick did it.
If a man kills his kids.
- He did it and he should go to prison or be executed.
5
u/JollyCapybara 7h ago
She killed her children. If she was experiencing psychosis, she should be sent to a psychiatric institution. If she wasn’t experiencing psychosis and was in full control over her actions, she should be sent to prison.
-5
u/MoveOn22 7h ago
You fall in bucket 1. We are seeing a very large percentage of women falling in buckets 2 and 3
3
u/JollyCapybara 7h ago
What’s your point?
-2
u/MoveOn22 6h ago
I don’t believe this case is setting women back. I’m explaining the landscape I’m seeing with men and women I know personally and online. Men see buckets 2 and 3 above as irrational or avoiding responsibility. And if someone has the opinion that this case “set women back” they are likely pointing to the people that are in those two buckets as being responsible. I think your post was missing that.

u/Super-fictious Evil Woman 6h ago

So, there's that. Good job males. You are #1 in rapes, assaults, murders, war crimes, pedophilia, genocides, and rallying for rapists.
Tell me again why you should have rights, at all, of any kind?

And the men rallying for Andrew Tate to be freed? Andrew Tate, the man who raped a minor and trafficked children? Is that setting men back? And the women on Clancy’s side aren’t saying ‘yeah she killed her kids but she should go free!’ They’re literally advocating for postpartum psychosis to be taken more seriously, and for her to be sent to a mental institution instead of a regular prison.
