So they won't get NBCU either as the rumors imply, at least not until 2028-2029 at the earliest.

NBCU doesn't have CNN, Trump won't give a shit.

1st - CNN wasn't even included in the Netflix deal, only the studios.
2nd - NBC is the biggest liberal network in the US. He would absolutely give a shit.

CNN not being included is exactly why they threatened to block it. Skydance wasn't gonna buy CNN on its own and the only way Trump could ensure his friendlies had CNN was by scaring Netflix away nd allowing Skydance to win, which is exactly what happened.

2nd, you're confusing NBC with MSNOW.

I’m not confusing them, i work in finance i know the whole Versant spin off very well. NBC is absolutely a liberal network. Where do you think MSNBC/MSNOW got the liberal chops from?

Paramount could easily buy CNN/Discovery networks by itself after the split if the Netflix deal passed, and wouldn’t need the kind of debt they took for the whole WB deal. If Trump had any pull he would convince the Ellisons to buy Discovery just for CNN

He said he would block the Netflix deal because conservatives have a feud with them. They say they push the LGBTQ agenda on their shows, including the kids shows. Netflix was in front of congress for that not long ago.

Paramount could've easily bought them, but they didn't want to. They made it clear they wanted the whole thing, specifically cause of the movie studio. They didn't just want the TV networks. It's why they went for it before WBD was able to do the split as they had originally planned.

You working in finance means nothing about understanding the political slant of networks lmao

Because they needed it. Paramount is broke. Buying just CNN and discovery simply for their propaganda machine would have been a bad investment but getting some money making titles with the deal…..

unsure what you're arguing... you're agreeing with me.

I’m not arguing, just adding on specifics.

The point is he wanted an ally to get CNN. Ellisons weren't interested in CNN without getting WB.

Sure CNN plays a small part, but not the main reason. MAGA has a beef with Netflix for allegedly pushing trans and gay ideology into children shows in the platform. Ted Sarandos was in front of congress not long ago for this same reason and Trump was crying about nonstop on Truth Social

It's the most corrupt administration in our history and maybe in the world and it's not front page news every single day like it should be.

Constant news stream, social media and every day concerns have subdued the population enough... corporate planning worked

Yeah, somehow I don’t think the billionaires are going to stream much if anything at all about how corrupt dis administration is because this administration is corrupt for the billionaires.

Hopefully the debt Skydance had to take on to get WBD will sink them faster than we think and it won't matter

Because, as the conservatives so traditionally love in business, the government had already picked the winners. And we all were the losers.
