Bug? Did this happen for anyone today?

First I was disconnected and unable to even send a code to my email- it said I was not connected to the internet but I was in fact connected.
Then I uninstalled and installed the app and now I get this screen message of maintenance…
Hope will be gone soon.. I do not want to loose my account after so many years…

Edit: it is back with no other issues- thanks for who commented and I do feel a bit dumby for the very fast panick…

Achievement Showcase Just wanted to show off my 70-year-old mom’s Duolingo stats

My mom is 70 and has been using Duolingo every day for over six years. She’s currently at a 2,361-day streak, over 1.26 million XP, and has apparently been in Diamond League for years. I asked her if she’s competitive about it, and she said she’s only competitive with herself 😂

Bug? Offline likely due to PHP vulnerability

Hey guys,

For those freaking out about Duo being down or offline for them it's likely related to a huge PHP vulnerability that was recently discovered

Duo have likely taken all servers offline due to the recent news about 2 huge vulnerabilities found with PHP which is some kind of back-end framework that websites like WordPress and Wikipedia rely on

Notice from the UK's National Cyber Security Centre (might not be accessible from outside the UK)

There are apparently urgent bug fixes being rolled out worldwide for these today, but the thing is it's going to be a race for companies to update to the newest patch, and people using the PHP patch notes alongside AI to try and attack those vulnerabilities on any service that is still live (accessible via exploits) and not updated

General Discussion Keep getting words I never learned

Ever since this update they keep asking me words I have not learned in the flash card challenges and sometime in the lessons.

Anyone else getting this? It's frustrating not being able to complete the flash cards because they trip me up on a bunch of words i have never seen before.

Constructive Criticism Just Finished A Course

I just finished the Hebrew course (45 levels), yay! I knew already that Duolingo's response was going to be underwhelming, but this was really something else. Guys, could we get a special graphic or message or something? There can't be a very high percentage of folks who reach this milestone on the app.

I will finish Latin next: it's 15 levels, super quick. I only started this month. But what I really want is to finish Spanish, which I have been working on for years. But they keep changing the path and structure so the end gets further away over time.

What say ye, other folks who have long term relationships with language learning on Duo?
