Forever Beta Feedback English as regional language not available?
So those are the only pickable languages for me. Located in Switzerland. English always was the general language on non language specific EU realms, I dont want to be stuck on any of these languages and set it to english. Client and game is all set to english.
Currently only german players around me, thats BS imo, what about all the cross EU guilds that planned to play together? Keeping it like this will create a massively different experience in comparison to a EU English megarealm. Thats basically how it was in 2005 with 5k ppl on each server.
How is it looking for you guys and where are you located? Like ppl from Scandinavia, eastern Europe etc.?

Tbh, many germans play WoW compared to other nations. I think they are actually the most predominat player in Europe, inhope i do not lie

When we had regular servers and germans were on their own realms, i would argue that EU servers were mostly swedish. Nearly every single guild i was in had like 80% swedish people. I'm swedish aswell. I always found it a bit awkward that we're all sitting there speaking english to eachother even when we did say UBRS and we knew we're all swedish in the group. English just kinda sticks due it's often the rule in the guild. But when it's all of us in a group that's swedish we realy should just be speaking swedish with eachother imo :p

This is just gamebreaking honestly, it’s the same for me and I asked on general, confirmed they were all French. I might just not play at this point, huge L.

Yeah only 4 languages to choose from, not a fan of it tbh, i want to see general and trade chat in english, but with those options it will be only one of 4

When I booted up the game it didn’t let me pick American.
Huge oversight.
We’ve won the Super Bowl 60 times in a row and people still don’t give us the proper respect.

I think that`s base on when you make the account is lock to region.
Its not possible to have a account which has access to both region :(

Not sure the settings themselves are finished nor functional right now honestly, it might currently be based on geolocation. Obviously there's no English option, but as someone from England; I have seen a massively disproportionate amount of people with names related to regional proper nouns that are obviously from here. I did see a few other languages when the stress test started, but none now. Hopefully Blizzard address this pretty soon

there is also French French and Canadian French but they didn't clarify that here
just feels like an odd naming choice for the European server/clientbut doesn't feel like too big a deal

I'm european and am also limited to the same 4 languages but interestingly enough setting it to Spanish has matched me up with people from Cuba as well.
Might just be a stress test thing since I'm guessing they might only have 1 server or something. Hope they add english though cause it's a struggle at the moment.

Ngl that may be a deal breaker for me, i enjoy communicating with ppl all across the Europe, but blizzard just puts everyone in a local cage. Kinda kills the whole meaning of MMO

It's not related to any country. As a Finn I apparently must learn German too in order to play Forever. Obviously(????) there's no Finnish option, nor has there ever been.
Weird bug.

and I was set to English and didn't notice anyone talking in German. On PvE I saw a few French sentences but I didn't ask if they are from France

for non german located people it seems to be a generally english spoken area ( no matter what language they picked), while actual germans get grouped.

That is violently stupid if that is the case. Not really a fan of a company deciding who and who I cannot decide to be grouped in with.
Funnily enough, with players getting forced into specific layers based on the languages they have available to them, which is decided by Blizzard, I think they've unintentionally invented racial/national segregation.
