You wake up 2000 years in the future and WoW Forever Classic Remaster++ has announced a beta that begins... In four weeks.

God I wish they would make a new SP episode about WoW lol

south park focuses on the new/outrageous, very rarely if ever on old established things, wow isn't breaking any records, if anything I'm surprised they never made a fortnite episode

Just don't freeze yourself in hopes of skipping ahead 2 weeks to then wake up 500 years later.

If it's gonna be anything like the beta was it's gonna be a shit show.

Absolutely, and I'm going to love it

I can't wait until we are in the same situation with botting and gold buying, Resources being overpriced when people find out needed materials, and a meta being found within a month or two that forces cookie cutter specs

You sound like you would be happier not playing mmos then

Oh yea I've been playing a solo bot controlling version of WoW vanilla for a few years now and it is so much more bearable than Classic Era. Honestly you're right it's the players that just want to cheat, exploit, harass, and turn the game into a modern day constant dopamine hit that video games are forced to be now. I don't get how more people aren't upset that we had gold buying in the beta!!! Like if that isn't a sign that shit isn't changing from the retail ways I don't know what is. The tournament was a terrible idea that showed the path Blizzard is willing to go just to get their money then stop caring again. I'd be happier if the people playing the game with me weren't such shitty people.

So you acknowledge that players cheat and want instant gratification? Then why are you cheating with an army of bots that will instantly come to your aid whenever you want help with anything you can't/won't solo? Hmm..

It's not cheating when it's more designed as an RTS where you position and control your units they can also be set to do their own thing but it isnt the smartest AI. It isn't cheating when it's a solo server designed around it because the other alternatives are ones where I just instant kill everything and loot drops are insanely inflated so I prefer to still experience the content as it's supposed to instead of relying on God mode to solo it. It's not an Army of bots instantly killing things for me it still follows grouping restrictions, doesn't give them BiS gear, and they do the most unoptomized things ever but it's the best way I can play vanilla content without an inflated AH economy, min maxers ruining raiding, and toxic people just wanting to make other people's playtime worse.

I agree, people that buy gold suck, but unfortunately reality is that if it's online, there's RMT and hacking. No companies have solved botting, hacking, etc. In their online games. It's a constant cat and mouse chase. The more advanced the detection tools get, the more advanced the TOS breaking tools get. It's why cybersecurity is such a lucrative field.
I get being upset and annoyed by it all, I just rather spend my energy enjoying my time

That's the thing I try to avoid it and enjoy the time playing but it's just all over the place and effects how I can play. If you can't see that Beta was a shit show foreshadowing the retailification of classic WoW then you must not have paid much attention to that stuff happening around you. The class balancing was based around a lvl 30 tournament, gold buying/selling was Rampant on a trial server that resets, people were stockpiling resources to overprice or just shovel to people in the tournament, xp calling getting constantly tampered with, no real cemented decisions were made during beta and it really felt like Blizzard just used it to bring people in and make more money off something they know they are going to ruin. I'm trying to have as much fun as I can but when the game world around you is turning into shit infront of your eyes how do you enjoy being forced to be in that world without wanting to leave it?

I made so much gold from farming mats needed for the tournament. The inflated market made me rich because I play the game. Yeah people cut corners to get gold, but that goes into my pocket because im farming mats

Gotta love that happening on a beta test server where it caps half way to max and resets on release. Aren't betas supposed to be for testing bugs and making sure things are running smoothly not just for more advertising via a pvp $100k tournament? It felt like the whole beta was soley focused around that tournament and as someone who didn't care for it at all it made the experience excruciating at most points.

I agree, it got completely hijacked in my eyes too. hard to ignore if you have a wow-orientated social media algo. I need to unfollow everything to enjoy myself at this point. my friends who dont go on reddit or wow related YT, had no clue about tournaments or even xp nerfs or anything. They had the most fun out of anyone I talked to.

Every player in the game will be in no more than 7 small areas. Yeah, it's gonna be bad.
