Forever Beta Feedback Unintended outcomes of the Dungeon XP Nerf

  1. Monster Skip Runs [ More than just end game dungeons ]

  2. Hard Reserving of low level gear [ Not just Cruel Barb ]

  3. Less Tank and Healers leveling [ You see them say it every day on reddit since the nerf ]

  4. Tanks and Healers charging for their services for low level dungeons [ Not just end game ]

  5. Less dungeons begin ran [ Meaning harder to find groups ]

  6. Less social interactions [ Dungeons were the group activity, questing is primarily solo ]

  7. Some dungeons being skipped entirely [ Alliance have no reason to run Shadow Fang Keep since there are no quests and no mob XP ]

There are more issues than just these, I normally just run a dungeon 3-5 times now trying to convince people to do that will be drastically harder.

why would cloth users help me do Scarlett Monetary Armory?

Will people just Skip SM Cath because you have to clear all mobs?

We have never had to ask these questions before and this is why people are so passionate about it, we are supposed to be playing this version Forever.

Just make Boosting a lifetime bannable offense.

Skip meta is already here, it's already happening.

Which is why I plan on tanking, so I can reject hard reserves, people doing convoluted skips, and generally anyone who isn't being a huge chiller. Say what you will about the wonky way they've been handling dungeon XP I'll take anything over people looking at me like I have 3 heads back in 2020 trying to get anything except a paid boost group going for half the dungeons. It was bad!

Dawg these changes will make forming those groups you enjoy HARDER

Sure, by a bit, but I'm doubtful it will be very hard at all with the megaserver and a built in dungeon finder. I'm not crazy about dungeon finder being in the game but at some level I do need to get with the times.

I'm sure you are going to hard reserve by not bringing any competing class to your runs after you have run the dungeon 7 times, the item you want dropped 3 times and you haven't got it yet.

I'm also sure you will be delighted to pull everything on your 8th run when you got 23% xp of your level at 46 during those runs.

I've done every classic dungeon more than a hundred times at this point and now I've got crows feet and my back hurts. There's more joy in the world assuming the best in people rather than the worst. I'm probably going to level quite slowly but what's realistically waiting at 60? What's pulling me back in isn't new raids, its fleshing out the 1-60 experience and I will take my time drinking that in.

Remind me to never run BRD with you.

I'll admit, despite my efforts I've gotten an all-boss run of BRD going at the appropriate level like twice, ever. It's not like I'll insist on Stratholme runs being a full live and undead side run either, but I think you know that and are just being a little sarcastic.

Fuck it, I'll run full BRD or Strat runs with you, that sounds awesome.

I believe my full runs clocked in at 10 and 8 hours for BRD, if I'm remembering what I did on private servers 10-15 years ago correctly. I'm glad there's still people like you out there getting excited about the cool things that could be. If you ever see a shaman cow tank out there trying to get that foolishness done, hit them up, it might just be me.

Hell yeah, brother! I love dungeons, they're my favorite content in MMOs, period, and I've played a LOT of MMOs. I'm going to be rocking an undead Paladin as my first character this time, really liked the changes in the beta, so by the time BRD rolls around I'll have dual-spec for Holy or Ret.

Literally isn't/not more than it was already.

You're right, it's always been a thing to skip as much trash in dungeons as possible while still completing quests and killing the bosses.

Skip meta has been alive for years. I haven't seen a group where people werent trying to skip unnecessary mobs since like original TBC.

u/Noctaem 11h ago

I played in OG, it was a thing then too. No one fucking full cleared the trash in dungeons. These people are delusional.

there is a difference between skipping out of the way mobs that there was no reason to ever pull and trying to skip things on the normal path to try and save 20 seconds

If they can be skipped by a group, then they are out of the way by definition. And please, give an example of what you're even referring to?
