Forever Claim Your World of Warcraft: Forever Character Names

During the reservation period, eligible players* can create and reserve names for up to three characters total across all Rulesets. This means that if you create two on a PvP Ruleset, you’ll only be able to create one more character in a Normal or Role-Play Ruleset. This restriction only applies to Early Name Reservation.

Wait a minute, three characters is kinda awesome! Helps out with people who are split between PvP and pve, I guess I’ll just have to pick out at least two I really like for PvP and pve and then I’ll throw a shot in the dark for the third one

EDIT: Misread question, will leave initial response lol, rulesets are character based but once you pick a faction on PvP ruleset you cannot create characters of the other faction on the PvP ruleset!

It will be on the Live servers. It's full character creation.
It's also what the stress test will be on although those characters will be wiped after the 4 hours of the test.

I don’t think this is right. The whole ruleset is one server. So you could have a Hoopty Whoopty on PvE and a Hoopty Whoopty on PvP.

And I played the Beta and can confirm that you can make one character with a name on a rule set and could not make the character with the same name on a different rule set. But what the fuck do I know? Right?

Never used remote desktop app from your phone? All you need to do is make *any* character to lock in your name. Thats easy enough to do on the phone, then simply delete it and recreate it when youre at home, later time, or launch day.

It already is able to be downloaded. The stress test will be using the Live game servers so download the stress test so you don't have to download it the day of the name reservations.

Yes, the BETA is its own region. The stress-test will use the American region which will be wiped after the test.

I think its super important to put your actual username (eg "Peter" in the first name (eg "Peter" + "Parker") and not in the surname (eg "The" + "Peter", or "Awesome" + "Peter").
reason:
- in the 100k tournament, they did hide every players surname (a feature which was not (yet?) available for normal players)
- another user pointed out that he/she farmed exalted in desolace. Using the rewarded title did also hide the surname (source: https://www.reddit.com/r/classicwow/comments/1x08n64/i_farmed_exalted_with_magram_centaurs_on_the_beta/)
not sure how many enjoy being "The of the Magram", or "Awesome of the Magram", when in fact they want to be associated as "Peter".
maybe I am just overthinking this. But i have a hard time with that surname topic.

keep in mind guys you are competing with your ENTIRE continent (usa / eu / asia). getting a popular name will be much much harder than in any other classic launch. you better have a long list of names ready.

A little of both.
The WoW client is capable of sharing data across versions, so hopefully you don't need a FULL redownload if you already have the beta installed.
However, it also relies on them configuring it appropriately, and they may very well not want to share a lot of data with the beta client for one reason or another, so TBD.
No you will not use the beta client, but also having the beta client installed should make your required download size for the real client smaller.
