When you finally get that sweet rank upgrade

[u/erre94]

Technically a dps upgrade.

Isn't their feral similarly strong as before? (I wanna play druid, I thought overall the balance was OK)

[u/DeadEskimo → u/No-Article-Particle]

Feral tree is okay for bear. For cat it basically has nothing. You now gotta spend an extra 3 talents points to play a worse version of the degenerate powershifting, you got a capstone talent that does basically nothing for you. Furor has been change to make using bear form a punishment.

Im not even gonna go into the nerfed heals and spells to make sure you can't play as a hybrid. I think whoever is in charge of druid don't like them.

[u/Lucaslouch → u/DeadEskimo]

we now have omen of clarity for free, dps scales with weapon instead of level, talent tree is globally similar. with some aggressive points changing (only 2 points needed for 6% crit, 4% hit for 2 talent points…)

the major change comes from the powershifting that has been reworked for a talent with an 8 second CD, when talented.

overall not bad changes. my feeling is that we should be fine if not a bit stronger than in classic in end game. but we will need to see in a raid environment with other classes

[u/censuur12 → u/Lucaslouch]

we now have omen of clarity for free

That's nice, but it already used to be basically free since you wanted the talents leading up to it anyway.

dps scales with weapon instead of level

Which is a bad change, in practice it means your damage is lower at all points except when you just got the best possible upgrade, and only briefly.

And to make things worse, all your heals are significantly less effective. This means your ability to do solo questing is heavily impacted and very, very gear dependent. No matter what spec you go for you have fewer tools for the job than dedicated classes have. So you have a lot of the costs of being a hybrid (massive gear complexity and requirements, limited ability options for your chosen role) and none of the benefits.

It feels really shit to need rare items just to get back to the baseline you had in classic, which wasn't even that great to begin with.

[u/Lucaslouch → u/censuur12]

except now, you only need 9 points in balance instead of 14 (but 3 more in resto).
the dos change is harder on leveling (and you have to level feral skills) but at 60, your feral weapon was 60.1 dps if my memory is correct, which is not hard to beat, as a sulfuron hammer is already 63.65 dps.

also all the weapon procs and weapon enchants works now, so is windfury.

let see how it goes but leveling should be a little harder, but end game much better

[u/censuur12 → u/Lucaslouch]

Druid damage stayed up there because you scaled more with stats than other classes. The main issue is that there wasn't any actual gear with those stats on it available in classic. This change doesn't really fix anything and makes you more reliant on your weapon's autoattack damage.

also all the weapon procs and weapon enchants works now, so is windfury.

A great change for sure, but most of that isn't very relevant for the leveling experience which is where we're seeing all these issues. If levelling remains as troubled as it is now it's going to see similar things to what we got in SoD, people won't want to level alts and the game bleeds out.

[u/aepocalypsa → u/DeadEskimo]

powershifting is a good thing and berserk is a lovely capstone but yes the healing/spelldamage nerfs really suck for hybrids. god forbid you use a spell outside your spec i suppose

[u/DeadEskimo → u/aepocalypsa]

I don't know if you actually think that or It's tongue in cheek. We obviously disagree on powershifting, that's fine, but how can you call a capstone that is inherently not good number wise and it gets worse i.e gives less value the stronger you get lovely?

[u/aepocalypsa → u/DeadEskimo]

getting reck on a 3min cd but for shred only is still really good?

obvi it wouldve been nice to get the energy cost reduction version instead but hey. its fine.

[u/DeadEskimo → u/aepocalypsa]

Feral is one the classes that has the most crit naturally, automatically making this much less valuable.

When a warrior uses reck, all of his abilities crit, including their auto attacks, when a warrior crits he gets more rage, meaning more rage to dump into more crits, more damage. It a self feeding loop.

When cat crits it does nothing outside of do a little extra damage. If we have a baseline of 40% crit, pushing that to 100% for 15 seconds for shred does very little. If you don't do anything you get what, maybe 4 shreds in that time as long as that's all you press. Likelyhood we had crit 2 out of those 4 is already exceptionally high. We don't get any extra energy from it, nor does it affect any spenders.

It sound good to have 100% crit on paper, until you actually start thinking about what that does for you, which is essentially nothing.

[u/aepocalypsa → u/DeadEskimo]

When cat crits it does nothing outside of do a little extra damage.

i mean we get double combo points thats pretty decent

If you don't do anything you get what

okay but like you obvi pool energy, powershift, thistle tea etc for this. its not the best three minute ever but it should still be pretty substantial

[u/__Raiko__ → u/aepocalypsa]

Except our finishers are all pretty bad at the moment so the combo points barely matter at all on feral currently.

Shred damage was gutted (went from 225% damage to 155%), so yeah homie is correct that this Berserk is intentionally meant to be a very minor power boost.

A lot of our damage is coming from auto attacks, which Berserk does not affect.

[u/Ok-Piglet7 → u/__Raiko__]

Are they pretty bad? With full balance talents and gear my 5 combo rip hits for 150 ish, doesnt seem bad at all

[u/__Raiko__ → u/Ok-Piglet7]

Rip is decent now (as is Rake), so I should have worded that a bit better, but what I meant is that you should be able to keep Rip up just fine at endgame without Berserk, and *Ferocious Bite is not good*, so generating extra combo points during Berserk won't help at all, since there's nothing you've gained.

If FB was actually great then it would have made a little difference, but then again finishers don't even gain the benefits of Berserk...

[u/Normal-Razzmatazz576 → u/DeadEskimo]

Totally right

All they had to do is copy paste Turtle wow feral talents. That easy. It's amazing there

[u/GreaterHannah → u/No-Article-Particle]

Yeah, the feral community is overall happy

[u/Nrgte → u/No-Article-Particle]

Bear struugles with rage same as warrior.
