Forever Spells are scaling with level

I checked on my mage, the when I was level 7 it did

30 to 45 damage, 3 damage over 6 seconds.

I then handed in a quest and the fireball did

31 to 46 damage, 3 damage over 6 seconds.

On Level 9 it turned to

32 to 47 damage, 3 damage over 6 seconds.

I suppose my Intellect gains a point or two, but Intellect only increases Mana, Spell Crit Chance ( shouldn't this be just Crit Chance? ) and Weapon Skill improvement rate.

This lessens the feeling of going to your class trainer after about 6-ish levels of your spell doing mostly the same damage and upgrading the Rank to gain a huge boost to that spell. Learning a new Fire Ball or Frost Bolt Rank and switching over to it because it does more damage is imo one of the fun little things that this brings with it.

They have always done this in vanilla… you still really need higher ranks or you’ll fall behind

It’s always been like that.

There's a reason retail has way more players than classic ever will, and it's not because it's bad lol.

Fortnite and league of legends.

What about them? Lol

Is your point that casual games tend to be more popular than their more difficult counterparts? Because that's a weird point when classic is the casual version of WoW yet still less popular than retail. Really shows how "bad" retail must be lol.

I’m saying just because a game is popular doesn’t mean it’s not trash

Except it isn't.

I get not wanting classic style stuff to be retail, but retail isn't bad. Stop with the basement dwelling weirdo classic andy shit.

Guarantee you played retail maybe once since Wrath or something.

Nice assumptions.

I played every expansion up until TWW and then blizzard screwed up how gear progression worked and created one button assist so I dropped it.

Delves started out hard if you solo under the suggested ilevel but it was easy if you were in a group even if you had dozens of ilevel below the recommended. Then blizzard changed it so delves got harder with more people.

Retail babies cried, so they renerfed delves to where even if you are solo dozens of ilevel below the recommended level you could clear it and it gave like m+7 equivalent gear when m+10 was when m+ stopped increasing gear ilevel, so people would just get to 60, run a few delves, then immediately hop into M+7 because there was no reason to do a lower M+ because you weren’t guaranteed gear like in a delve and it was far easier to just do the delve.

That, and feeling obligated to run like 8 m+ dungeons a week due to the FOMO which sucked, especially when coupled with daily and weekly quests.

Idk those are small enough scaling that the next rank is still gonna be a significant jump. Also certain spells have always done this, like paladins seal of righteousness scales with level until the nezt rank is available and then you have to get that one for it to keep scaling, that is how it currently works on classic era and hardcore. Not surw about other spells but still seems pretty minor.

Maybe this could be a best of both worlds? I agree that getting a new rank was great, but man those times where you had a full level with a spell that did jack shit felt equally horrible imo

If tuned correctly, this could make the spells feel less shit right before the upgrade, while also making the upgrade noticeable and satisfying. Depends on the exact tuning tho
