I was opening my first box of 1989 fleer and pulled this Bill Ripken card. At first, I had absolutely no idea what I had just pulled. Then I noticed the error on the card and started laughing. What do you guys think about this card? Also, do you guys think it’s undervalued or overvalued? Finally, do you guys think I should grade this?

I don’t know about PSA, but I’m grading this a 10.

Lids is out of their f-ing minds. A&G hobby box they want $240 per box. I can understand mark up but when you need to hike the price that much I’m good.

New to this sub, wanted to come in here for advice. I recently got my grandfathers massive baseball card (mostly baseball cards) collection from him, with cards ranging from the 60s - 1990s. I know a lot of this stuff is considered “junk wax” but I just don’t know what to do with all of it.

I don’t have the time to go through all of them, or individually post/sell them all. Check out some of the photos below, I would love to hear what yall think! Theres are quite literally thousands more, I didn’t want to overload on photos!

Pic for attention. These are all unopened boxes. I have a 1989 Bowman box that is unopened. It is a Tiffany box I believe because of the numbering.

When looking at cards that have come out of that set, I could potentially get some awesome cards worth more than the $3000 for the set in factory sealed condition.

This to me seems like one of those ripped cards. Do you or don’t you? I’m strongly considering opening the box. I’m new to this level of box set and just looking for maybe some guidance. maybe I should take a pole. Yes or no? Yes to open it. No, do not open it.

Our target and Walmart always have baseball card packs and boxes but I’m just getting started. How do you know which ones are “worth” buying? Knowing which ones have good “chasers?” Tia

Giving this another shot! I’ve posted this redemption here before without much interest, so I figured I’d try again with a more specific list of what I’m looking for. The only comp I’ve found for this card sold for $400, which is what I’m targeting for any potential trade.

Looking for advice on best approach to take with a redemption card hit. If the card is one that you would consider selling at auction, is it better to redeem and have the actual card in hand or to try to auction the unredeemed redemption card now?

I am definitely not complaining, but was surprised to see a "series 2" card in "update". Are series 2 and update usually blended with hits? I know update cards have their own numbers with "u" where this is series 2 base orange autograph variation.

I'm looking for any advice on how to tackle this and (hopefully) get them entered into my TCDB collection. Best plan I've got so far is fully manual/old school - sorting them by player first, then by year, then by set, and finally by the card variant.

I've got them in boxes. They're mainly modern. Mix of base, variants, Autos, and relics.

Is there a more effective way to do this? When I had this problem for my Pokémon cards there were apps that scanned the pictures and added it to my collection. Not sure if that exists for baseball, especially since some of the variants look extremely similar. Most Pokémon cards are wholly unique and very hard for an algorithm to confuse them, but even so it still happens
