Question Does anyone use linux-mainline kernel?

I am so curious about this kernel that is on the AUR: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/linux-mainline

Is basically the pure kernel compiled from main linux git, does anyone on this sub reddit use it, how is the experience, im really interested in it

"Is basically the pure kernel compiled from main linux git"

Aren't the stable and lts kernels in arch also compiled directly from upstream sources?

No, Arch does customize their kernel.

I tried using a mainline configuration I compiled myself but had trouble getting it to run stable.

https://github.com/archlinux/linux/commits/v7.2.11-arch1

Arch currently has 4 small patches, one being to name it *-arch.

I use the mainline kernel compiled and signed by me on my pc. Works great. With all the drivers built into the kernel instead of modules, and only the drivers I need on my pc, it boots up very fast, which I like. And instead of saying “I use arch by the way” I say “I use a monolithic 7.3.0 kernel by the way.” And inside, I feel superior. I usually then get the answer “WHY? There are modules for everything you nutcase.”

No real point to use it.

I'm using cachy's kernel.
