Hated Tropes Things meant to be progressive just end up being incredibly offensive

What If - In one of the comics Miles becomes Thor, and it's full of stereotypes about black people such as the Mjolnir having graffiti on it and the infamous "by Odin's fade"

Emilia Perez - Everything about the movie

Not just a man, but a man pretending to be a woman to gain a competitive edge in women's golf. It's every negative stereotype that plagues trans athletes to this day.

That honestly sounds like a South Park episode when written on paper except they'd already done that joke with a trans woman loosely based on Macho Man Randy Savage demolishing a woman's athlete competition.

And the "male lesbian" is the face of MtF for a lot of the unsympathetic.

Futurama also does this where bender pretends to be a woman to perform in the woman bending Olympics it is very icky although he does actually transition and falls in love with calculon and fakes his death rather than break his heart.

I think a big difference in Futurama though is that Bender is portrayed as being wrong. No one thinks what he’s doing is right/a good idea and Bender is intended to be sleazy and morally gray/outright bad person. The episode still has harmful tropes/stereotypes but Bender is more the butt of the joke than actual trans people.

What do you mean “stereotype”. No one thinks every tran person is trying to gain a competitive edge in sports, they just call out the ones who do

Nobody is transitioning to be better at competitive sports.

The #1 misconception about trans people is that their transition is extrinsically motivated (the most common ones given being cheating at sports or peeping on people in the restroom), and not intrinsically motivated by dysphoria.

In my case, it doesn't matter if I'm in men's or women's sports. I would suck hind tit at it either way. Plus I do my business in public restrooms and get out.

It is not a misconception

There are 0 people going through all the steps required to transition and be allowed to compete in women's tournaments for a competitive advantage. That's crazy.

Which assumes every man goes through the most rigorous process to "transition", which is not true. Shit like r/transmascdiy is proof of it.

Quit using "um ackchyually trans people need to speak to 90 doctors and psychologists before transitioning" as a deflection.

Why would I look at transmascdiy if we're talking about trans women? That makes no sense at all.

I am pretty there is an equivalent sub for the men too, but that is not the point.

That sub is for men. What do you mean?
