Hated Tropes (Hated Trope) Endings so awful they completely destroy the legacy of the media.

  1. Two and a Half Men's final episode teased Charlie Sheen's character coming back and going to harm the other characters whilst also having insults to his character and Charlie Sheen himself. It's clear the director had a grudge and the ending where his character comes up to knock then get crushed by a piano before it cuts to the director before he says "winning" before getting crushed by another piano
  2. This was an upbeat animated show about a magical teen princess. The writers desperately wanted a romantic endgame for her and her best friend, but the way they got there was essentially multiversal omnicide. To stop a villain, the main character unilaterally decides magic is the root of all evil and destroys it entirely. By doing this, she casually commits mass genocide against every purely magical being in the multiverse. It also triggers a massive apocalyptic event that violently crashes different dimensions together into a chaotic hellscape. But the show frames this horrific, mass-extinction catastrophe as a sweet, triumphant ending just because two teenagers get to hold hands in the rubble (Star Vs The Forces Of Evil)

Umbrella Academy final season was so bad. They should call it 007. Zero well done plots, zero good jokes, seven superheroes who choose to die to prevent the multiverse from being destroyed

I hated that every single season starts the exact same way with every single main character separated and unlikely to team up. It's the same damn story every season

It’s why I stopped real early into season 2 and I’m retroactively glad I did.

I loved season 1 but once season 2 was just…literally season 1 again except this time with Jim Crow racists I was like, why am I watching this?

My immediate worry when a story does that is that the writers don't have an ending in mind that they are driving at, which is how you create long pointless slogs with no satisfying payoff.

I want a story that had a point. Not just whatever some dork could come up with to fill time. No show has enough episodes per season anymore to be wasting anything. If one-eighth of the season is a clip show, or a slightly swapped version of something we already did - then I know there was no vision behind the idea to start with.

I watched to season 3, should’ve stopped at the start of season 2. I have never gotten over the disappointment of them ending up in the 60s and not going back to when they were kids and saving Vanya/Victor, helping him control his powers and thereby stopping the apocalypse
