Hated Tropes (Hated Trope) Endings so awful they completely destroy the legacy of the media.

  1. Two and a Half Men's final episode teased Charlie Sheen's character coming back and going to harm the other characters whilst also having insults to his character and Charlie Sheen himself. It's clear the director had a grudge and the ending where his character comes up to knock then get crushed by a piano before it cuts to the director before he says "winning" before getting crushed by another piano
  2. This was an upbeat animated show about a magical teen princess. The writers desperately wanted a romantic endgame for her and her best friend, but the way they got there was essentially multiversal omnicide. To stop a villain, the main character unilaterally decides magic is the root of all evil and destroys it entirely. By doing this, she casually commits mass genocide against every purely magical being in the multiverse. It also triggers a massive apocalyptic event that violently crashes different dimensions together into a chaotic hellscape. But the show frames this horrific, mass-extinction catastrophe as a sweet, triumphant ending just because two teenagers get to hold hands in the rubble (Star Vs The Forces Of Evil)

What do you mean? It's quite sweet anime-original story

16

u/SeaworthinessDue1650 6d ago

Oh we aren’t discussing the anime…

60

u/Dark_Crow22 6d ago

What do you mean? It's anime original story, there is no manga

49

u/SeaworthinessDue1650 6d ago

Oh shit my bad I was hallucinating for a second. I’m so glad that the anime was very wholesome.

55

u/Dark_Crow22 6d ago

Keep it up citizen and remember to take your mandatory 2.4 second break so it doesn't happen again

10

u/andre5913 6d ago

There is no manga in ba sing se

u/noncredibleRomeaboo 6d ago

You know its bad when even anime producers who will happily pander to lolicons refused to even commision part 2 lmao.

20

u/11equalsfish 6d ago

Maybe there's some good sensible directors and producers out there lol, they made it a complete and sweet finale

u/Dekachonk 6d ago

The mangaka had a type.

45

u/kitsunecannon 6d ago edited 6d ago

If you’re referring to mangaka liking older men you would be correct

The writer was a woman and her fantasy was being the little girl not the grown man

This is not an improvement but it should be clarified that this was a female pervert not a male one

1

u/SpecialistEast9457 5d ago

Wow this… puts things in a different perspective… I guess??? Idek anymore…

-22

u/qorbexl 6d ago

You're invested, huh

30

u/kitsunecannon 6d ago

i think its best to clarify because people immediately assume that if a work has a paedophilic message the immediate assumption is that the writer is male and thats a rather harmful stereotype

Women can be creeps too and that needs to be pointed out

I understand your assumption is that im a creep and i assure im very much not, im just a dude who really loves to correct people spouting incorrect information because im an asshole

-15

u/qorbexl 6d ago

Women can be pedophiles

Don't make it no better

21

u/kitsunecannon 6d ago

i do not believe at any point i said it was

-11

u/qorbexl 6d ago

You did pretend there was a difference and a distinction

I'm not sure what you thought it was, though

Just that it needed to be pointed out

What's the difference, exactly?

10

u/kitsunecannon 6d ago edited 6d ago

There isnt a difference i never said there was a difference

Im clarifying because i felt the orginal comment was assuming the writer was a man attracted to children which isnt the case

As i said i like to correct people when they get things wrong

that is what i am doing, because people like to assume that if a piece of content has grooming depicted positively then the writer is a man

Woman can be just as creepy but people tend to ignore that possibility and thats harmful

Edit: i genuinly think either youre stubborn or mentally stunted, so im going to say this in a way you can understand

FEMALE PEDO JUST AS BAD AS MALE PEDO, ME WANT TO CORRECT PERSON WHO ASSUME WRITER TO BE MAN BECAUSE WRITER NOT MAN IT WOMAN, ME CORRECT THIS BECAUSE USAGI DROP KEEP GETTING USED AS EVIDENCE OF MALE MANGA WRITERS BEING CREEPS BECAUSE PEOPLE KEEP SAYING WRITER IS MAN WHEN WRITER NOT MAN, WOMAN IS CREEPY BUT PEOPLE KEEP FORGETTING WOMAN CAN BE PEDO

there you go you dumb fuck, i tried being polite but atp im genuinly bored of this conversation, if you cant understand what im trying to say then maybe you should try going back to school

u/TallMist 6d ago

They literally already said "It doesn't make it better", you're boxing shadows here

-6

u/qorbexl 6d ago

But they spent two paragraphs defining a distinction

Something's happening that they think makes it different

Just curious what it is

9

u/TallMist 6d ago

They straight up explained that the reason they clarified.

They want to fight against the assumption that all creeps are guys. Unless you take an issue with pointing out women can be creeps too, there's no reason for you to be fighting against this so hard.

u/Pervius94 6d ago

Wtf are you talking about. Perfect single season anime. It's great whenever they come up with such great things anime only without a manga to draw from.

Is this just lolicon bait? Please tell me it's not lolicon bait

33

u/noncredibleRomeaboo 6d ago

No......but its not exactly better.

Part 2 timeskips ahead and has the "daughter" has a teen and as her fall in love with her adoptive father. Eventually said father learns they aren't biologically related and if after graduation she still feels the same way they can become a couple. She does, they do, and she looks foward to her future making children for him. Its pure groomer crap and genuinely makes me wretch to think about.

Horrible day to be able to read

12

u/noncredibleRomeaboo 6d ago

Horrible day to write as well

12

u/kitsunecannon 6d ago

So small detail that I don’t think you mentioned is that the writers fetish was that she (yes the author is a woman) wanted to be the little girl rather than being the grown man

This doesn’t make the series better and it’s just as bad but just thought it best to clarify

3

u/noncredibleRomeaboo 6d ago

Yeah I know. Somewhat shocked me to learn it but none of my views change. Clear this is a fucked kink of hers and groomer crap

1

u/kitsunecannon 6d ago

Never said it should change your view, I agree its just as bad but a lot of people tend to assume the writer is a man who wants to fuck a child and I think it’s best to clarify that the nonce was a woman

1

u/noncredibleRomeaboo 6d ago

Oh I know. I should have made it clear I knew this before your message. Its a valid thing to point out

6

u/Pizzaphotoseyes 6d ago

Honestly laughable that the author thought making them not related would have fixed anything. Author might as well have not bothered with that twist

8

u/kitsunecannon 6d ago

Author: "I can accept pedophilia but i draw the line at incest"

1

u/BuisteirForaoisi0531 6d ago

Wow that’s just awful

7

u/noncredibleRomeaboo 6d ago

Its so awful that every adaptation, both live action and animated, refuses to go beyond part 1. Like they dont even try and "fix it", just fully abandon that half.

1

u/BigBoyoBonito 6d ago

Tbh I'd still count that as lolibait

18

u/Branduil 6d ago

Not exactly. The author is a woman, it's more about appealing to women with a very particular daddy fetish. Not that that context ruins the story any less.

-24

u/MadeOfPoison27 6d ago

Oh good it's woke

20

u/noncredibleRomeaboo 6d ago

Nobody knows what that word seems to mean anymore

-2

u/MadeOfPoison27 6d ago

It saddens me deeply how necessary the /s is these days.

13

u/Earlier-Today 6d ago

Every single thing you can think of, that you think is blatantly, and obviously sarcastic, has been said in total seriousness by somebody else.

That's the internet.

"Obviously sarcastic" doesn't exist here because every single person has a seat at the table - even the dumbest, the most gullible, the most crack pot, and the most brain dead people.

They all get a say here.

They are why you need /s.

Text is also a terrible way to imply sarcasm. Tone of voice and facial expression are the normal ways you show you're being sarcastic. /s is the stand in for that stuff we do so naturally when talking in person.

-12

u/MadeOfPoison27 6d ago

Who gives a fuck? You have other methods to infer the intentions of someone's comment. You could check my post history, for instance. Whining about "there's no tone or facial expression" makes you sound like the kid in school who had their mittens pinned to their coat. A joyless, irony-free world where every sentence is pre-figured by a couple meaty paragraphs of explanatory text and content warnings is a pathetic trade in exchange for you not having to feel the abject, pants-pissing terror you experience when you have a brief moment of not knowing if someone is serious or not.

6

u/Earlier-Today 6d ago

You're getting way too heated about needing to press two buttons.

Brother, I have no intrest in being a detective to see if someones serious anymore. The shit I see posted unironically is enough for me to no longer bother.

0

u/MadeOfPoison27 6d ago

"I have no interest in finding out about things, please make everything as easy as possible for me at all times." Hey maybe you could just run all the comments you read through an AI and you can have that explain irony to you? And then maybe you could have it wash your ass for you too

they need to update your programming

7

u/ERedfieldh 6d ago

K, I'll bite since no one else will. What part of this do you find to be "woke" and how do you define "woke" in this context?

use both sides of the paper if necessary.

-7

u/MadeOfPoison27 6d ago

jfc relax, it's just a joke, I was trying to make fun of how chuds will label anything related to a marginalized group as woke. you people need to calm down

7

u/dearth_of_passion 6d ago

Are you saying groomers who commit incest are marginalized groups?

0

u/BuisteirForaoisi0531 6d ago

To some they are I found a college professor arguing just that if you wanna see

1

u/dearth_of_passion 6d ago

No thank you.

u/BuisteirForaoisi0531 6d ago
